Welcome to Veterans Week in the Tri-Lakes By KD Michaels, Staff Writer Veterans come from across the nation to celebrate Veterans Week in Branson. Known as a city that honors and salutes our Veterans throughout the year, Branson adds a variety of events to celebrate Veterans from all branches of military service from November 5 - 11 each year. Below is a list of Veterans Week events. November 5 - 11, Daily -- Veterans Village, located at Ballparks of America,Buildings 2 and 3, 1000 Pat Nash Drive. The Day Room is open from 9 am to 4 pm daily, and a Mess Hall Lunch is free to Veterans and only $6 for guests, daily from 11:30 to 1:30. November 5 - 11, Daily -- Traveling Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, located at the Welk Resort, US Highway 165, this is open to the public. A half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Nearly230 feet long and lists more than 58,000 names of the fallen heroes of
the Vietnam Conflict. November 5, 10 am -- Opening Ceremony for the Traveling Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall at the Welk Resort, presented by the Branson Veterans of America 913. Guest Speaker is Brian Seitz, State Representative and a veteran of the US Army. November 5, 2 pm -- Vets for Vets Show, at the Branson Star Theater, 3750 West 76 Country Boulevard. This is a USO-style production, featuring a number of entertainers -- both veterans and active-duty military personnel. Free admission for veterans and their spouses. November 5, 5:00 pm -- Veterans Week Opening Ceremonies, at the Americana Theatre, 2905 West 76 Country Boulevard. No admission charge, and reservations are not required. November 6, 8:30 am -- Sandbox Party, at Mel’s Hard Luck Diner, 2800 West 76 Country Boulevard, in the Grand Village. Mel’s
Hard Luck Diner is providing breakfast for those who served in the Gulf War or after. No admission charge. To RSVP, call Dee at 870-421-3511. November 6, 12 Noon -- Vietnam Vets Reunion, Stone Castle Inn, 3050 Green Mountain Drive. Hot lunch, entertainment and fellowship. To RSVP, call Dee at 870-421-3511. November 6, 12 Noon -- 18th Annual Rose Petal Ceremony, Westgate Branson Woods Resort,Grand Pavilion. Remember and honor all women veterans. Rose petals will be released in memory of the women vets. Lunch will be served following the ceremony. Free to all veterans and $20 to civilians. Reservations requested. November 7, 10 am -- Sunday Worship Service with Barbara Fairchild, Baldknobbers Theater, 645 State Highway 165. Join Barbara Fairchild and husband Roy Morris for a morning of worship.
