ear industry colleagues, On behalf of ITE Group, I am delighted to welcome you to Breakbulk Middle East 2016, here at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) for its second edition. Following a successful launch last year, I’m very happy to announce that this year’s event is even bigger and better. As the region’s leading conference and exhibition for project cargo, ro-ro and heavy-lift, we aim to help all attendees gain knowledge and make contacts that turn into long-standing business relationships. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome back all returning VIP Shippers, whilst also welcoming those who have joined the VIP Shipper Club since the last edition. We trust you will have an informative and productive two days. I would also like to thank all of our sponsors, returning exhibitors and delegates for their continued support, and extend a warm welcome to new sponsors, exhibitors and delegates attending for the first time this year. It is fantastic to see so many of the region’s trusted forwarders and carriers showcasing here alongside heavy-lift and engineering specialists, all supported by our standout breakbulk ports and terminals. Once again we have a first-class conference agenda at the heart of the event, with the industry’s key stakeholders sharing their insights into the unique challenges and opportunities of the Middle East. Our topics range from GCC investment opportunities, to methods of mitigating cargo risk, and from the UAE’s

rolling stock trade to the complexities of Saudi Arabian customs requirements for global EPCs and others. I look forward to lively debate and in-depth analysis. With so much going on, I urge you to make the most of your two days here. As you will see, the exhibition floor is packed with the region’s leading operators and specialized logisticians. They will be happy to advise and assist on all project cargo, ro-ro and heavy-lift requirements. In addition, there are networking areas where you can meet with old and new friends from the industry. Thank you for your support, and I wish you a constructive and enjoyable show! Yours sincerely,

ear Breakbulk Middle East Friends: Welcome to Breakbulk’s second Middle East conference. We are happy to be back in this resilient, dynamic region of the project world, and to be partnering with the Natrans Expo for the first time. It’s been another challenging year for the breakbulk and project cargo logistics and transport industry, due to volatile energy and commodity prices and geopolitics, industry consolidation, and project slowdowns. Our keynote speakers for day one and day two, Eduard Gracia, Partner, A.T. Kearney Energy Practice Middle East; and Richard Thompson, Editorial Director, MEED, will present energy and regional project outlooks that will give us some sense of what to expect in 2017 and beyond. I am proud to present a twoday executive program of business intelligence and insight focused on project transport and logistics. Only at Breakbulk do you find this level of specialized project knowledge offered by seasoned experts so willing to share their knowledge. Following our opening keynote by Eduard Gracia, we begin day one with a lively discussion on assessing and mitigating cargo risk in today’s ‘new normal,’ moderated by Fluor Logistics Director Cyril Varghese. We then take a close look at the UAE’s vibrant market for rolling stock, particularly high-andheavy and machinery, a panel moderated by GAC Dubai Manager for Projects and Energy Sudesh Chaturvedi. We close the day with a project case study, a close

look at the multibillion-dollar, multi-year logistics involved in building the massive UZ750 project, moderated by Petrofac Emirates Logistics Director Matteo Pollara. On day two, following Richard Thompson’s opening keynote, our opening panel follows the hazardous, high-tension path of logistics executives who venture into the great unknown to map out pre-project routes, moderated by Steve Gibson, Logistics and Trade Compliance Manager with McDermott Middle East. Following that, we offer a unique window into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, presented by Khalid al Khaldi, Manager Projects, Saudi Aramco and Ken Long, Country Head of Energy Solutions KSA/BAH Panalpina. We are also pleased to present several high-caliber micro-seminars on our Exhibition Hall floor. Please take advantage of these unique opportunities to learn from true experts in our industry. Our micro-seminars include sessions on global forwarding, logistics contract negotiating and managing in the oil and gas industry during the downturn. Thank you for joining us at Breakbulk Middle East. Let us help you create valuable new business connections, strengthen your team and your business acumen, and see old friends and make new ones. It’s good to have you here.
