From the graduation requirements to the expectations set forth by teachers, our students are held to a higher standard. This higher standard is ingrained in the fabric of a typical school day at Brebeuf – through Personal Responsibility Time (PRTs), student-teacher relationships that extend beyond the classroom, and peers who consistently push each other to achieve higher. Brebeuf students never stop at “good enough” – they strive for excellence. And, while the Brebeuf
classroom can be seen as challenging, it is that challenge that elevates our students above their peers. Upon graduation, Brebeuf students are prepared, not only for the demands of college, but also for the demands of the world. Students are pushed to explore their beliefs, question social norms, and fight for their convictions. It is this knowledge of self, coupled with exceptional academic skills, that sets Brebeuf graduates up for lifelong success.

At Brebeuf Jesuit, our Catholic Jesuit identity shines through in our ROBUST FAITH COMMUNITY, which strives to encourage spiritual growth in every student, regardless of faith background.
Through a culture of understanding and dialogue, students learn about the religious traditions of others around them while being encouraged to grow in, and reflect on, their own beliefs. The Daily Examen is a prayer by which St. Ignatius, founder of the Society of Jesus, attempted to recognize the presence of God in his daily life. At the end of each school day, Brebeuf Jesuit students, faculty, and staff settle themselves for a moment of prayer to reflect on their day.

In God’s presence, review the events of your day. Recall the moments during this day for which you are grateful...Remember that God is in all of these moments. Now, consider the challenges you may have faced today…Remember that God is present when we face our difficulties and gives us courage, peace, and wisdom; God makes all things possible. Now, reflect on when you may have fallen short today…Recall that God helps us to understand our failings and forgives us. Finally, give thanks to God for the gift of this day…and look forward to the graces God has for us tomorrow.

With over 94% of the student body participating on at least one team during their time here, sports are ingrained in the four-year experience at Brebeuf Jesuit. In fact, over 50% of students participate as multi-sport athletes, showing that students are not forced to specialize in one sport but are supported to pursue many interests regardless of scheduling conflicts or time constraints. Our teams encourage every interested student to be involved regardless of their experience level, but our championship records speak to the level of experience they gain during their time as teammates. Brebeuf Athletics takes
sports beyond the court, field, or pool, pushing students to be involved on a deeper level through programs like SALT (Student Athletic Leadership Team) and by connecting sport to faith through annual team retreats. Athletes consistently push themselves and their teammates to levels of excellence, and three Braves earned the title of “IHSAA Indiana Mental Attitude Award Winner” over the last three years. Being a Brebeuf student-athlete is about more than playing a sport. It’s about being the best person you can be on and off the court.
