EXHIBITIONS Woven Spaces Craig Walsh + Hiromi Tango (Sydney, Australia) In partnership with Building Hope + Summit County Care Clinic Gallery@OMH | Old Masonic Hall | FREE Jan 23–May 10, 2020 Craig Walsh and Hiromi Tango, in collaboration with the Summit County community, present Woven Spaces, a fusion of sculpture, sound, scent, performance and projection forged to generate a meditative space for collective engagement and contemplation in the face of the mountain town mental health crisis. As the speed of life has increased, so too has the rate of reported anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. Mindfulness has become a common term, but for many, taking the time to slow down and focus the mind amidst all the demands and distractions of contemporary life seems difficult to achieve. In this exhibition, the artists work with a healing color palette, bringing shared experiences of co-creation with other community members to foster resilience and a sense of belonging, while evoking a sense of calm and positivity.

Woven Spaces includes outdoor projections on the Arts District Campus featuring interviews from Summit County residents, an exhibition at Old Masonic Hall, and a series of community engagement projects with the artists and with Building Hope Summit County. Building Hope Summit County is a community-wide initiative designed to create a more effective and responsive mental health system that promotes emotional health, reduces stigma and improves access to care and support for everyone in Summit County.
