BRECKENRIDGE CREATIVE ARTS | BRECKCREATE

Through art, Breckenridge expresses itself as a town like no other, where the simple charms of our surroundings connect the most unlikely of neighbors: hunters to hippies, liberals to libertarians, beer drinkers to cosmic thinkers. Here, everyone has a voice they are encouraged to express. And the melody they create is anything but monotone. BreckCreate drives home the importance of the arts in establishing Breckenridge’s identity. It motivates the sharing of fresh perspectives; it entices those from outside the local community to engage Breckenridge as a creative destination. It promises an evolving experience that reinvigorates the soul with every return visit.

BRECKENRIDGE ARTS DISTRICT The Breckenridge Arts District is the region’s newest epicenter of creativity, bringing together studios, galleries, performance spaces, historic landmarks, public art, restaurants, cafes, and other creative businesses that animate and populate a vibrant cultural corridor in downtown Breckenridge. The Arts District’s core attraction is a new multi-facility arts campus that hosts workshops, exhibits, artists-in-residence, and a variety of other activities for locals and visitors alike. With a focus on educational and experiential enrichment, programs include classes in several media such as textiles, ceramics, metalwork, painting, and more. Complete with decorative plazas and sculpture gardens, the Arts District campus serves as a community gathering place and a catalyst for creative expression in Breckenridge.

PJ BERGIN SALIDA, CO PJ Bergin is a contemporary, abstract artist who uses wool as her medium. A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City, she designs and produces site-specific Network Tapestry™ and free standing LED-lit sculpture. Working with wool evolved from PJ’s desire to create works of art that will not only enhance rooms visually, but, will also bring a special balance and meaning to the space. Her newest work incorporates LED lighting to create self-lit, wall-mounted, and freestanding Glow Structures™.

Join PJ Bergin on April 11 for a workshop in the Breckenridge Arts District to create a felt bowl from wool. PJ will share her secrets to help you make your own one-of-a-kind sculptural bowl; please bring a plastic or rubber ball 9” in diameter or less. $100, includes all materials.
