The color-saturated dreamscape draws wide inspiration from the Norse founders of Breckenridge and the legends they brought, tales of mystical mountains, platform video games and the edible fantasy world of Luilekkerland. Inedible Feast Laura Shill (Los Angeles, California) + Breckenridge Heritage Alliance (Breckenridge, Colorado) Gallery@OMH, Old Masonic Hall, FREE Mar 28–May 19, 2019 Opening Reception | Thu, Mar 28, 5:30–6:30pm: BCA Members’ Preview; 6:30–9pm: Public Reception Inedible Feast is a sculptural installation that makes material the gap between the selves we present online and the selves we are in real life. The viewer is presented with representations of the symbols of our interconnectedness--a feast of emojis, an altar of cell phones--that evoke the simulation of a life performed to become an image. The historic Breckenridge wallpaper in this exhibition is provided by Breckenridge Heritage Alliance. PAGE

/krē’āt/ mountain arts + culture e-zine
Published by Breckenridge Creative Arts | ISSUE NO. 13, Winter/Spring 2019
/krē’āt/ /krē’āt/ is an online magazine published triannually by Breckenridge Creative Arts. Each issue profiles a creative individual or business, cultural organization, event and object of art in a thoughtfully curated visual journey that aims to highlight and promote the greater creative community of Breckenridge. Available January 1, our winter/spring issue reflects on Breckenridge Creative Arts five years in, with an eye to the future. From Ullr lore to the fantastic worlds of Tanya Schultz and Ashley Eliza Williams, we self-examine; then juxtapose a Victorian worldview expressed in historic wallpaper from Breckenridge Heritage Alliance with our modern predilection for selfies in the art of Laura Shill.
