LUXURY REAL ESTATE IN SUMMIT COUNTY The limited inventory in this singular market, and the increasing demand for these properties, is supported by the decrease in time it takes to bring these homes from listing to closing. Breckenridge Associates has noted significant declines in the average number of days it takes to sell a luxury home. For example, in 2017, the average number of ‘days-on-market’ for luxury homes in Summit County was 147 days, down from 163 the previous year. The last two years have shown another clear-cut decrease, with an average of only 102 days-on-market. In 2018—in all of Summit County—a total of 18 $3M+ homes were sold. As of October, 2019, that number grew to a staggering 29 $3M+ homes. MARDI GRAS Tuesday, February 25, 2020, the town of Breckenridge mounts its one-day Mardi Gras festival filled with merriments, live music and parties! The annual celebration welcomes Mardi Gras and encourages everyone to get into the spirit of the tradition. Mardi Gras is French for “Fat Tuesday”, referring to the practice of the final night of overindulging in rich, fatty foods before the ritual fasting of the Lenten season begins. Whether you follow that tradition or not, join us for a day of fun! Break out your purple, green and gold, your masks, boas and beads, and have a blast as the town comes alive New Orleans style. The revelries kick off with a Mardi Gras Ball. Suggested attire, “mountain formal,” means pretty much anything goes. Past Mardi Gras Balls were bursting at the seams with everything from ball gowns to funky thrift store costumes and plenty of crazy face paint. Dance all night while awaiting the finale and the crowning of the Mardi Gras king and queen. The celebration continues on Main Street with a parade of lively floats, beads, and costumes, all promising a high-country Mardi Gras experience unlike anything else.
