Preface
Tio on Tour ist ein buntes Spielbuch für Kinder, welches geeignet ist, über einen bequem langen Zeitraum als Ergänzung und Abwechslung zu jeder Klavierschule gespielt zu werden. Im Anfangsteil geht es nur Schritt für Schritt in den erweiterten Tonraum hinein, im weiteren Verlauf (etwa ab Seite 6) wurde ganz frei verfahren. Da ich auf sehr unterschiedliche Ansprüche eingegangen bin, schlägt die Sammlung, was die Schwierigkeit betrifft, einen recht großen Bogen. Daher ist es hilfreich, zu einzelnen Stücken passende technische Übungen und Leseübungen zu erfinden. Einige Stücke (z. B. Staccatino auf Seite 16 oder das knifflige Scherzino auf Seite 21) sind ganz besonders gut auswendig zu lernen. Sie eignen sich, das Auswendigspielen wirklich einmal zum Thema zu machen und zu üben. Auf Fingersätze wurde nicht ganz verzichtet, die Arbeit daran kann aber im Unterricht gemeinsam weitergehen. Hingegen kommt das Heft ohne Pedalspiel aus. Tio wünscht viel Freude beim Spielen!
Tio on Tour is a colorful playing book for children, which is suitable on a relatively long-term basis as a varied and welcome supplement to any piano method. Initially fanning out step by step into the extended tonal range, it then proceeds more freely in the course of the book (from approx. page 6). As I have addressed quite a variety of needs, this collection covers a wide range of levels of difficulty. This is why it would be helpful to invent apposite technical and reading exercises for individual pieces. Some pieces (e.g. Staccatino on page 16 or the tricky Scherzino on page 21) are ideally suited for memorization and are perfect for treating memorization as a topic to be practiced. While the book does not require the use of the pedal, fingerings have not been omitted altogether; however, they can be worked out together during lessons. Now it’s your turn to go on tour with Tio!

Musikalische Ausbildung in der privaten Klavierklasse von Waldemar Strecke, Frankfurt. Handwerklich-künstlerische Ausbildung in der Meisterwerkstatt Kalle Sippel, Coburg. Seit 1986 als Klavierlehrerin sowie freischaffend künstlerisch tätig in Frankfurt. Born in Munich in 1961, Kerstin Strecke began taking piano lessons along with instruction in painting and sketching in Frankfurt (Main) in 1971. She studied music in Waldemar Strecke’s private piano class in Frankfurt and underwent a training in artistic handicraft in Kalle Sippel’s master studio in Coburg. She has been a piano teacher and freelance artist in Frankfurt since 1986.
