JEWELS OF DREAMS

Devon-based jeweller Milly Maunder has launched her new wedding collection – and we couldn’t love it more!

Milly’s handcrafted jewellery offers brides a variety of bespoke and ready-towear pieces featuring her signature textural style. Specialising in recycling old jewellery and scrap metal, Milly combines a passion for silversmithing with the ancient technique of granulation to create pieces “inspired by texture, organic design and pushing metal to its limits.”

Whether you fancy donning a dazzling pair of earrings, eye-catching pendant, stunning bracelet or stacking your rings, Milly’s wedding collection comes in gold, silver and mixed metals in an assortment of designs all with her idiosyncratic style.

You might choose the luxurious barnacle and pearl earrings, fusing a cluster cloud of textured granules with lustrous baroque pearls; for statement neckwear, pick the beautifully textured barnacle necklace – which looks fab paired with the barnacle bracelet and drop earrings. Then there’s the dainty sea urchin studs - whether you wear them alone or layered with drop earrings, they’re guaranteed to complete your bridal outfit in super-chic style.

The new collection can be purchased via Milly’s website. You may wish to book a visit to her Cullompton studio to peruse the collection, discuss a commission or attend a ‘make your own wedding band’ workshop. millymaunder.co.uk

GOLD RUSH

Not only have Devon master goldsmiths Isabella Day and Ford Hallam opened their own atelier – The Remarkable Goldsmiths – in Dartmouth this summer, but the exceptional talent of the Devon jewellers has also been recognised by jewellery bodies on a national and international basis. Isabella has been selected as a finalist for Designer of the Year at the Association of National Jewellers; she is also the only female fellow of the Institute of Professional Jewellers in the Southwest. Meanwhile, Ford has won the top gold prizes for the art and skill of Japanese metalwork (Kinko) in the top national competition in Japan.

Using traditional goldsmithing techniques and making their own gold alloys from scratch, Isabella and Ford craft extraordinary contemporary treasures from their Dartmouth studio. Specialising in distinct and ethical gemstones as well as reworking heirloom jewels, the pair can shape, forge and handcraft over 26 different colours of gold into whatever you desire, whether it’s a wedding ring or engagement ring or a striking piece of jewellery reflective of your love story to wear on your wedding day and treasure forever. theremarkablegoldsmiths.co.uk
