KEVIN McKAY Glory Days: South Sydney Studies 17 March to 11 April 2015
This series of small paintings explores the unique urban landscape surrounding the Brenda May Gallery. I enjoy finding beauty in the everyday and immersing myself in a locality where traditional working class terraces, public housing towers and contemporary development produce surprising geometries animated by atmosphere and light. They were painted en plein-air and in the studio during the summer of 2014-15. - Kevin McKay, 2014
