So you want to be an Art / fine art Student?
Before we get started. You will need to buy a sketchbook.
gather all the equipment that this book requires.
LETS START WITH: A PENCIL . Every Artist needs a Pencil. it is probably the most essential piece of equipment that an artist will require. There are three types of Pencil: H - For detailed pieces of work. B - For shading your sketches. HB - A mixture of both pencils. This is best USED for general drawing.

FINELINER YOU CAN USE A FINELINER FOR LINE DRAWINGS OR TO GO OVER An OUTLINE OF A DRAWING. IT CREATES A CRISP EDGE ROUND YOUR WORK.

grab a pair of scissors and start cutting some shapes. Use the following page to cut somE shaPes out. Use a ruler when wanting a crisp edge to your work. it will make your work look a accurate.

FELT TIP PENS. COLOURED PENCILS. Felt tip pens adds a bold brightness to your work. It adds a cartoon/ poster effect to your work.
Coloured pencils adds colour to your work but creates a more natural, grainy effect to your work,
Add a little water to your felt tip drawings and THIS creates a more natural looking and mixing effect to your work well.
it works best if you want your work to have a little colour and can play about with gradients of colour.
PAINTING. Another essential piece of kit for any artist. Painting is probably one of the most traditional way of creating artwork.
Water. Use a old jar, fill it with water to clean your brushes.
Water-colour paints. water-colour paints are similar to acrylic paints are better for mixing when on the canvas/ paper. Use a palette to mix when painting. It is designed for this.
acrylic paints Acrylics are water-based paints, which means they can be mixed with water to thin them down and you clean your brushes with water. They’re made from pigment mixed with acrylic resin and emulsion. Acrylics are very fast drying.

Mop paint brush Round with squarish head especially good for water colors laying down washes.

Angular paint brush Flat with a angular head. Good for short and long stokes.

FILBERT
Filbert paint brush flat with rounded head good for laying down areas and for blending.

Bright/flat paint brush FLAT with a square head good for laying down areas of paint and Impressionism.

1] Draw things you see. DRAW THE FIRST YOU SEE WHEN YOU LOOK AWAY FROM THIS PAGE. DRAW IT.
Go to the Park. Sit on a Bench. just look around you.

find something in the surroundings that you are interested in.
Look [2 at a tree in the sun. look at the colours of the leaves. see what side the sun shines on. then check an hour later. see how it has chANged. Look at thE shadows. look at things intently. Mark it down in your sketchbook.

5] Get books on art education. This one is just thE start. Go to a library. Gain knowledge on: art education. artists. Techniques.
find interent sites on artists. [6 Read up on artists. USE THE INTERNET. FIND ART WEBSITES. CREATE A BLOG. UPLOAD IMAGES of YOUR WORK.
7] expose yourself to great art. visit museums Find books on different elements of art and design. Learn from the masters. Imitate them. try motifs.
feElings. [8 put your feelings into your art. exprEss yourself through your art. WHAT ARE YOU FEELING NOW? DRAW IT.
