About the Director

Lou Gibilisco has done a lot of “stuff” as a performer and teacher, but he is most proud of his accomplishments as a husband and father. For the past 34 years, Mr. G has been privileged to be the Director of the Performing Arts Department at Notre Dame High School. He feels honored to have his wife, Debby, as choreographer with him every step of the way.

The G's take pride in watching all of the Notre Dame Performing Arts programs grow and flourish, and have flourished a little themselves with their greatest productions: their children Gigi, Jaime, and Jenna; their "new daughters" Helena and Jill; and their grandchildren Louie, Jace, Georgia, and Lilly!

From the Gibilisco Family to yours, God Bless, enjoy the show, and a BIG thank you to all of our alumni who have been part of the Performing Arts Program over the last 34 years. We love and appreciate all of you!

Grease Synopsis

Here is Rydell High’s senior class of 1959: duck-tailed, hot-rodding “Burger Palace Boys” and their gum-snapping, hip-shaking “Pink Ladies” in bobby sox and pedal pushers, evoking the look and sound of the 1950s in this rollicking musical. Head “greaser” Danny Zuko and new (good) girl Sandy Dumbrowski try to relive the high romance of their “Summer Nights” as the rest of the gang sings and dances its way through such songs as “Greased Lightnin’,” “It’s Raining on Prom Night,” and “Alone at the Drive-In Movie” recalling the music of Buddy Holly, Little Richard, and Elvis Presley that became the soundtrack of a generation. An eight-year run on Broadway and two subsequent revivals, along with innumerable school and community productions place Grease among the world’s most popular musicals.

Special Thanks

To our Performing Arts Parents Association (PAPA), we give our heartfelt appreciation for your support in making theater fun and possible for our young actors, musicians, dancers and crew.

Thank you to all the Parent Groups; playbill, advertising, decorations, costumes, 50/50, Kiss the Cast, concessions, flower sales and cast party. You helped make the Grease experience special for all those involved.

Thank you to Judy Rynkewicz and Macaire Thomas for their support and endless effort with publicity for the play.

Many thanks to Janine Corgan for her help in supplying us with the yearbook photos.

A special thank you to the teachers, staff, and volunteers who worked hard to adjust to all the processes allowing “the show to go on!”

And finally, we thank all of the parents and guardians who arranged their lives around our rehearsals, costumes, set building and prop making/building schedules. We truly appreciate all you do.

While every effort was made to include all names in the program, we sincerely apologize for any names that have been omitted.

Senior Bios

BRENDAN APPERT (Euguene) has been a very active member of the Notre Dame Performing Arts. Brendan is a four-year member of the Madrigal Singers and a violinist in the Notre Dame Band, Orchestra, and Strings. Brendan has performed in eight shows during his time at Notre Dame, starring in his roles of Maude in Bye Bye Birdie, Mr. Kirby in You Can’t Take It With You, Wiesel in Newsies, and now Eugene in Grease. In addition, Brendan completed his Eagle Project for the Performing Arts, hanging posters of past productions in the back of the auditorium. After graduation, Brendan will be studying Biochemistry at Boston College. Brendan would like to thank Mr. G. and Mrs. G. for developing him into the performer that he is today. Brendan would also like to thank his parents and brother for their continuous support of him and the entire Notre Dame Performing Arts for making the past four years so memorable.

STEVIE BOWDEN (Sandy) Stevie has been an active member of Notre Dame Performing Arts since her freshman year. You may recognize her from playing Katherine in Newsies, Sandra in Big Fish, or a dead baby in two fall plays. Stevie wants to thank Mr. and Mrs. G for giving her the opportunity to perform some of her biggest dream roles over the past four years. She also wants to thank her family and her boyfriend for their support and for showing up at every performance. Stevie is planning to attend college to pursue musical theatre and hopes you will all get to see her on the stage one day!

LILIANA HINDY (Marty) has been a part of the Notre Dame Performing Arts for four years. She has been a member of Fusion for four years and this past year she was the Captain of Dance Performance. She has just recently joined Madrigal for her Junior and Senior year. Liliana has been a part of all four years of the winter musical: Godspell, Bye Bye Birdie, Newsies, and now Grease. Liliana will be attending High Point University in the fall. She would like to thank her family and friends for their unconditional love and support. She would also like to thank Mr. & Mrs. G for making her time in this department so special and unforgettable. “Congrats to the cast and crew of Grease! Love you guys!”

Senior Bios

ABIGAIL HWANG (Crew) is co-president of the Art Club, and an editor of the Etc. Magazine. Her most astounding accomplishment out of all her endeavors is her involvement in the Notre Dame Performing Arts community. Since her freshman year, she has played as a violinist for Notre Dame string ensemble, chamber orchestra, and full orchestra along with the pit for both Bye Bye Birdie, and Big Fish. Recently, she has been working more behind the scenes for Notre Dame productions. As she did for Newsies last year, she is collaborating on makeup and set/prop making with a lovely crew for Grease. Needless to say, it’s been a pleasure to be at Notre Dame, and she hopes to see where her future leads her in further quests for greatness.

CHARLIE JONES (Roger) Charlie is a four-year member of Notre Dame Performing Arts. He has appeared on the Notre Dame stage in Godspell (Charlie), Macbeth (Banquo), Bye Bye Birdie (Harry McAfee), Clockwork (Dr. McMurry), Newsies (Race), Clue (Wadsworth), and Grease (Roger). Charlie has performed in Madrigal for four years and Dance Class for three years, serving as Dance Captain his senior year. He is treasurer for the Performing Arts, president of the Broadcasting Club, co-president of Film Society, founder of Sports Huddle Club, and participates in NDTV and The Voice. He is a member of the National Honor Society and a three-year player on the tennis team. Charlie plans to attend college studying broadcast journalism. Charlie has enjoyed his time at Notre Dame and is thankful for the opportunities he has received. He would like to thank the Gibiliscos, and most of all his parents and family for their love and support.

TIERNAN KILLEEN (Joey) has been a part of the Notre Dame Performing Arts for four years. He has been in Madrigal for four years and participated in three spring musicals, two fall productions and one spring show. Tiernan is going to be attending TCNJ in the fall and will be continuing to perform in college. He wants to give a huge thank you to his parents and his sister for always putting up with his singing and always helping him achieve his goals. Tiernan would also like to thank his good friends in the Performing Arts for helping his confidence grow as well as always making him laugh.

Senior Bios

SABRINA LEIGGI (Patty) Sabrina has proudly been a part of the Notre Dame Performing Arts Department since freshman year but has been attending the Performing Arts Summer Sessions since 6th grade. Sabrina is a four-year member of Madrigal, and Grease will be her third production at Notre Dame. During her Notre Dame High School career, she was involved in Mock Trial, Girls Volleyball and is heavily involved with service learning at Notre Dame. She plans to earn a degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science in college and further it with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Sabrina would like to thank Mr. & Mrs. G for the opportunity to be a part of the Notre Dame theatrical world, and thanks, with hugs and kisses, to her parents, family and friends for their continuous support, guidance, and encouragement….and to the cast, crew and orchestra…“Break a Leg”!

TOM LENCOVICH (Crew) has been involved in Notre Dame Performing Arts since his sophomore year when he wrote and performed in Clockwork. Since then, he has operated lights, sounds, and video for Big Fish and Clue. Tom would like to thank his family for supporting him, Mr. Johnson for training him, and the Performing Arts community for welcoming him.

ELLA McCOLGAN (Crew) is experiencing her first year as part of the Notre Dame Performing Arts program. It is something she’s always wanted to do but couldn’t seem to find the time for before her senior year. To be honest, she’s not really that involved in theatre. She just loves to paint! The opportunity to be on the painting and props crew just fit this year. She will be attending Assumption University in Worcester Massachusetts next fall to play softball. She’s good with a brush but better with a bat! Thanks to her experience, she will definitely be reaching out to the performing arts program at Assumption University in her freshman year. She would like to wish all 2024 Senior Class members in the Notre Dame Performing Arts Club the best of luck in all their future endeavors.

Senior Bios

JOHN PAPP (Chorus) is a four-year member of the Notre Dame Performing Arts Department. His first show was Bye Bye Birdie; his sophomore year, playing the clarinet in the orchestra pit. He would like to say thank you to his parents and grandparents for always supporting him in everything he did at Notre Dame. He plans to attend college and study computer engineering.

GABRIELLE PIE’ (Chorus) has been involved in theatre for nearly her entire life, ever since her debut role as Chef Louis in The Little Mermaid in the third grade. She has starred in nearly every single Notre Dame production since freshman year, starting with the spring show All I Really Need To Know I Learned In Kindergarten, where she played a teacher. She has been in the ensemble for both Bye Bye Birdie and Newsies, played a soldier and an imp in MacBeth, and an Alabama Lamb in Big Fish. She recently starred as Professor Plum in Clue, which has been her favorite role by far. She would like to thank her mom, dad, siblings, aunts, uncles, and godparents who come to see every show she is in, her vocal teacher Alaina Stampe, and the Gibiliscos for allowing her the opportunity to perform at Notre Dame. She hopes you enjoy Grease!

CLIFFORD A. RUSSELL III (Crew) is enthusiastic about being involved in the production of the musical Grease. Even though this is his first year working on the show, he has participated in Performing Arts since freshman year, as a member of the Show Choir. He wishes to extend special thanks to his parents, family, friends, and staff at Notre Dame who showered him with continued support and encouragement. At Notre Dame he has participated in Track and Field, NDTV, E-Sports Club, Photography Club, and Ping Pong Club; all the while participating in a variety of service and charity ac tivities for the school. His fondest achievement was when his peers voted to crown him Homecoming King. His future plans are to attend Rider University and to pursue a career in Communications and/or Business Finance. To those coming after, continue to show “Clifftastic” enthusiasm!

He has performed in Godspell, Bye Bye Birdie, Newsies, and is very excited to perform this year in Grease. He has also been a member of the Madrigal Singers for all four years. Outside of Performing Arts, he is a member of the National Honor Society, is a Captain of the Notre Dame Cross Country and Track teams and is involved in several clubs at ND including the Environmental Club. Ryan will be pursuing a degree in History and Education from the University of Scranton this fall, where he will be a member of the Cross Country and Track teams. He would like to thank Mr. G, Mrs. G, and Mr. Patton for all their support and guidance. Ryan would also like to thank his family and friends for always cheering him on!

Sienna would like to thank all her Count Basie Theatre community, which is where her love for performing arts began. She would also like to thank her family and friends for being her number one supporters. She would like to thank her Mom for coming to every single show, she couldn’t imagine a better LAX/Theater Dad and to her Mimi, she couldn’t imagine seeing anyone else in the front row. Good luck to all the cast, crew, and pit in ND’s performance of Grease!

Congratulations on your final show at Notre Dame!!!

From the time you were a little girl and could barely talk, you were singing and dancing along to Annie, The Wizard of Oz and Mary Poppins, it was so adorable! Who knew then that you would grow up to have such a passion for performing. Your “spark” ignites when you are on a stage and we love watching you shine. As much as we enjoy watching you on stage, the role we love most is who you are in real life. You are funny, silly, smiley and you love to make people laugh and feel good. You are a strong, courageous and determined young woman. Always remember the power within you is greater than any power against you. Continue to ignore the roar and keep doing YOU!!! We love you so much and we are super proud of everything you do. Enjoy this final show! HAVE FUN NENNERS! God bless you always.
