To Whom It May Concern: My name is Brenda Rocha; I am a qualified architect with 5 years experience. experience I have an international interior designer background; I have been established in Melbourne since 2009, and am currently finishing a Master in Public Art at RMIT University. I have spent 18 months in an alternative field, observing space in another way; gaining insight as to how people use, own and enjoy space. Though I have not worked as an architect during that time, I have enjoyed immensely the learning curve brought about by widening my experiences in how space is used by the wider community, as opposed to an individual client. This has given me a greater insight and heightened awareness into human interaction with space, and therefore has helped me to discern the similarities and differences between the ways the city’s inhabitants interact with public spaces and to that people in other cities around the world. I have received high distinctions in both semesters of my studies at RMIT. I thrived on the challenges posed throughout, in particular my thesis, which focused on regeneration of neglected areas in the public domain. Since receiving confirmation that my permanent residency is being successfully processed I have been focusing on finding a workplace where I will be to practice architecture once again, with a view to gaining my Australian professional qualifications. The learning process in reaching my goal, and challenges I will overcome throughout.

An interesting aspect of this library is its botanical garden that serve as a buffer against urban noise and creates a more intimate environment ideal for the reading rooms. The vegetation chosen in this project were trees and plants characteristic from the Valley of Mexico.

Project 3 :
CO-RESPONDENCE
This was a public art project created in response to the flooding disasters in Northern Mexico during the previous years. A pathway of lanterns was created along the Yarra River by using paper envelopes and candles. candles Envelopes represented the idea to send some good news to the loved ones who were passing through difficult times. Warm wishes are represented by the candle flame inside of the envelope for the victims of Hurricane Alex that caused several flood disasters in different cities in Mexico.
26
YARRA RIVER A couple of hundred of candles were placed together along the Yarra River to make a waving line, playing and interacting with the space and those who passed trough. The transparency of the paper represents the lightness of material belongings and the flame of the candle inside symbolises the strength of the people to keep looking forward to the days ahead.

Are you pointing at me?- Noughts and crosses in St Kilda
Rob was the target this time. He was just reading the newspaper and suddenly dd l someone started t t d to make some unusual patterns with the leaves around him. He didn’t pay attention at the beginning. I made a circle,, then a cross,, and finally what really caught his eye was when I drew an arrow pointing at him. Then was when he really got involved in the process He asked, process. asked he helped and he destroyed the installation with me. 28
WAVY PATH -may 2010 - Changing direction.- Taking the time to pass through the pathway
Fourteen seconds is not too much. It was the time that took to walk trough the pathway. And when two people came from opposite directions they waited patiently until the other crossed, most of the people where very respectful with the artwork. It amazed me because they are just leaves at the end.

Project 5: The pathway of life. Melbourne Cemetery, May 2010 A representation of the journey of life. It couldn't be a straight line. Life is not that easy, life is not that boring. Ups and downs, as the last vital sign line in a monitor.
