Wow, I cannot believe it’s been nearly a year since we brought you the first copy of Get Inspired. The ladies here at Let’s Get Sketchy have had so much fun providing what we hope to be inspiration for you all. As you will see by this issue, we shook things up a bit and reformatted our magazine. I do hope it’s to your liking. And as always, please make sure that you stop on over and visit with us sometimes. We host weekly sketch challenges with great prizes provided by our wonderfully generous sponsors. We also select our cover layout for each magazine from uploaded entries so make sure you get those pages uploaded. Well that’s enough blabbering from me, you came here for the pictures right? So without further ado, I bring you the latest issue of our magazine and hopefully it will help you to “Get Inspired”!
Let’s Get Sketchy is a sketch inspired scrapbooking challenge blog. We post new challenges EVERY Monday. Participants have until the 30th of each month to complete their entries for a chance to win wonderful sponsored prizes. Please visit us on our blog to check out our great sketches as well as some wonderfully inspired projects from our talented design team!
It has been a real pleasure to bring our 5th edition of “Get Inspired”, magazine to you. I hope you will take a few minutes to yourself to enjoy it. We have made some changes in our format that we hope will make for a smoother read for you. We have cleaned up and reduced the sections a bit, which will open more “Reader Gallery” spots to feature your layouts and cards; we plan to continue on with our tutorial section and hope to share a new tip with you in each issue; and we have added a list of products that we love. We have also started a blog for the magazine where you will find challenges, for our publication. For this issue we hosted both a Mood Board challenge and a sketch challenge which is separate from our usual weekly sketches. You can view many of the entries in this issue! As the weather gets cooler, you will notice that we have chosen to add many layouts into our reader gallery that feature the wonderful warm colors of fall. We think it is important to reflect in our issue, the seasonal changes that we see in the world around us. You may want to make note of this as our challenges are presented for future issues. (hint, hint!) Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to inspire and entertain you once again!

FEATURED DESIGNER Hello, I am Elisabeth, music teacher at day, scrapper at night, wife to Daniel (for 16 years) and mother to two wonderful bundles of energy in my heart. I live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world - Vienna (Austria/Europe). My days start very early (my kids get up around 5am) and they are full to the rim. Scrapbooking is therapy for me to take a break from my busy life. I scrap on a platform built above our bed and is called my sanctuary. I don't have a specific style, I scrap everything depending on the photos, the papers and my mood. We asked Elisabeth: I started scrapbooking in: 2006 My scrap item(s) must have are/is: patterned paper and flowers. What I love most about this hobby: It relaxes me, makes me focus on the bright side of life and I preserve memories in a special way. Favorite source of inspiration: our children! Seriously, I have 25.000 photos on my laptop and 90% are of my children. I will be 90 and still scrapping childhood memories! What I love most about LGS: is the weekly inspiration and the challenge to leave my comfort zone If I wasn't scrapping I would: be building doll houses

TUTORIAL Have you seen the super cute Wood Sprinkles by Jillibean Soup? They are pretty cute, but I would really like them to match all of my paper stash and projects. So I found a way to create a knock off! You will need a few buttons (wood or plastic works fine), a hole punch or die cutting tool in a size to match the centre of your button, and some Glossy accents or similar type clear glue. Step 1 ~ Start by using a small amount of Glossy Accents to adhere the paper circle to your button. Step 2 ~ Cover the top of the paper circle with a nice pool of Glossy Accents and let dry. This will take a little while. It is that easy to create these little embellishments that make a great coordinated accent to your project! Here is a card that I created which features one of my embellished buttons.
