Delta Blues Festival draws near If you want to rock out the end of the summer, grab some friends, family and lawn chairs and head to Antioch’s 18th-annual Delta Blues Festival, on Saturday, Sept. 17. The one-day event, which takes place on the San Joaquin Delta in Antioch’s Rivertown District, is the perfect way to end the summer, as it combines rockin’ blues music with everything people love about summer, including delicious food. This year’s lineup includes Jarekus Singleton, Wee Willie Walker, Igor Prado, Terry Hanck Band, AC Myles and 3-Brothers Blues Band. All proceeds from the event will support the San Joaquin Delta Community. The festival is scheduled from noon to 7:30 p.m., in Antioch’s Rivertown District, off 2nd Street between G and I streets. Admission is free and free parking is available throughout downtown Antioch. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, but alcohol and pets are not permitted. Senior Resource Fair approaches Do you want to know what services and resources Antioch has to offer its residents? Join the City of Antioch as it presents the annual Senior Resource Fair, in collaboration with the Antioch Senior Citizens Club, at 415 W. 2nd St., in Antioch, on Sept. 30, from 9 and 11 a.m. While this event is tailored to the older, more mature residents, anyone interested is welcomed to the event. This event will be full of information for seniors, such as senior services, housing, medical practices and various vendors displaying products and provid-

nity for the community to meet and network with service providers,” said Recreation and Event Coordinator Anibal Hidalgo. “In 2015, we had a great turn out and our goal is to always to improve, year after year. This event creates a bridge between the residents of Antioch and local businesses.”

The City of Antioch Department of Recreation strives to unify and strengthen its community by creating quality experiences that inspire lifelong learning. In partnership with the Antioch Senior Citizens Club, it has created year-round events that promote community engagement and fun-filled moments. The Senior Resource Fair is one of the many events intended to support and give back to the community. So, please join the fun!
