As the senior class of 2017 steps closer to graduation, Heritage High School recognizes three students whose hard work placed them at the top of their class. Eric Mou – Valedictorian Landing at the very top, Eric Mou’s cumulative GPA was 4.35, which he achieved while playing sports and music and investing time in his community. As a tennis player for the school team, he played varsity doubles, and he is the senior president of the Heritage National Honor Society, treasurer of the Musicians’ Council and a lifetime member of the California Scholarship Federa-

Antioch leaders are in the process of revising a part of the city’s general plan related to 2,712 acres in the southeast part of the city. It’s expected the plan will call for about 4,000 homes in the area and several land-preservation guidelines. Thus far, close to 1,200 homes have been approved, and a plan for another 1,307 is expected to go before city officials.

More homes planned for southeast Antioch This week, The Press continues to explore plans for the 2,712 acres in southeast Antioch and 431 acres – 285 of which are undeveloped – in northwest Brentwood. These areas are expected to be connected by the proposed future extension of Brentwood’s Sand Creek Road, west into Antioch to Deer Valley Road and eventually to the southern end of Dallas Ranch Road. Antioch leaders are updating an element of the city’s general plan related to 2,712 acres of undeveloped land in southern Antioch, which are bound by Black Diamond Mines Regional Preserve to the west, city limits to the south and the city of Brentwood to the east.
