Customer requested refunds/transfers no later than 7 business days prior to the first day of class. No refunds after first class. No refunds or make-ups for missed days. A processing fee of $7 will be charged for all cancellations after a registration has been processed. If minimum class size is not met by one week prior to the start of class, the class may be cancelled. In the event that the District cancels a class, you will receive a full refund. Outdoor classes are cancelled in the event of lightning.

Pre Soccer General Information Kidz Love Soccer livestream programs are 30-minute classes presented over the Internet. Participants join class using the ZOOM meeting client and connect through any web browser. Kids need only a ball to kick, space to play and an internet connected device to join our class. To ensure the security of the class, each Thursday before class families are emailed the login information along with a list of common household items that we’ll use during class.

Mommy/Daddy & Me Soccer (Ages 2-3 ½ yrs.) Here is your chance to join in your toddler’s introduction to the world’s most popular sport. You’ll participate in fun, ageappropriate activities, and help your child to develop their motor and socialization skills. Tap Dance Blitz

Tennis classes are designed for beginner through advanced students. Lessons are taught in a fun and positive atmosphere covering basic fundamentals, grips, scoring, movement drills, and of course, lots of fun! (Teen to JOYS - Just Older Youth) Tap Dance Blitz is a forty-five minute class for beginners to intermediate tap dancers, ages teen to JOYS (just older youth). Simple steps to more advanced steps will be taught, warm-ups and small combinations. Tap is fun for everyone. It increases rhythm and coordination for all and helps build the muscle that is first to engage in aiding with fall prevention. Tap shoes are not necessary, flats are acceptable. Online Driver’s Ed Course (Ages 15+ yrs.) The DMV allows teens to receive their Learner’s Permit at age 15 1/2, and a license at age 16. This class is the FIRST, required step that must be completed. This is an online course with videos, animated driving scenarios, and sample test questions. Learn the rules of the road, major causes of traffic collisions, DMV procedures and much more. A licensed instructor is available to answer any questions. Receive DMV-approved Certificate of Completion. Sign up any time. Registration is ongoing. Safe Power Boat Handling – US Coast Guard Approved (Ages 13+ yrs.) 2 Day Safe Powerboat Handling/CA Boater’s Card Class. This 16hour hands-on, on-the-water course is for anyone who wants to learn how to safely operate a small motorboat and improve their boat handling skills. No previous experience is required! The US Coast Guard and the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) have approved this course for a State Boating Education Certificate and CA State boating education card. These national and state approvals call for the course to include a total of six to eight hours of classroom sessions covering required education topics. Adult Paint Night

If you didn’t take advantage of the Dock Sign Program the first time around, here’s your chance to put your address on your dock with a nice new sign that shows guests, and more importantly, first responders where you live. This provides immediate identification for police and/or fire personnel who might respond by water. Knowing the right address could be a life saver. Beautiful New Pickleball Courts at the Discovery Bay Community Center Dreams Do Come True! The Discovery Bay Community Center had eight tennis courts, two of which were in unplayable condition. In February 2020, the Town applied for remaining WW Grant Funds through East Bay Regional Parks District and was awarded those funds in May 2020. Between Grant and Town funds and a generous donation from Discovery Bay Recreation and Sports, Inc., a local 501c3, the Town was able to convert two unplayable tennis courts into six beautiful new pickleball courts. This allows for the Community Center to have the best of both worlds in one location with six tennis courts and six pickleball courts.

What Is Pickleball You May Ask?

Pickleball is a court sport played on a badminton-sized court. It is played with a perforated wiffle-like-ball and paddles that are approximately twice the size of a pingpong paddle and may be played as singles or doubles. Pickleball has been described as a combination of tennis, ping-pong and badminton. It is easy for beginners to learn, but don’t be fooled, this low-impact sport can easily

develop into a competitive fast-paced game for all ages.

All Are Welcome! Come on out and get to know your fellow pickleball enthusiasts and make new friends. There is a group of Pickleballers that typically plays Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday 9am-12pm. Get involved and learn something new or if you are a seasoned player, pay-it-forward and help out the beginner. No equipment is needed and newcomers are always welcome! The more the merrier.

In an effort to meet that objective, the Town utilizes Contract Instructors to provide these programs and activities. Many of these contractors currently utilized by the Town, also teach programs and activities in neighboring communities.

REFUND POLICY: Customer requested refunds/transfers NO LATER THAN 7 BUSINESS DAYS PRIOR TO THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS. NO REFUNDS AFTER FIRST CLASS. No refunds or make-ups for missed days. A processing fee of $7 will be charged for all cancellations after a registration has been processed. If minimum class size is not met by one week prior to the start of class, the class may be cancelled. In the event that the District cancels a class, you will receive a full refund. ASSUMPTION OF RISK, RELEASE, HOLD HARMLESS AND CONSENT TO MEDICAL TREATMENT AND PHOTOS (collectively, the “Agreement”): On behalf of myself and/or any minor child named above, I acknowledge that I am (minor is) in good physical condition to participate in the activity and that accidents and injuries can ar ise from such participation. I further understand that participating in this activity can carry an added risk of exposure to contagions such as flu and Coronavirus/ COVID19. Knowing these risks, and in consideration of acceptance of my application, I volu ntarily desire to participate (have minors participate) in this activity. I assume all risks and waive and release Town of Discovery Bay and its officers, employees and agents (collectively, “Releasees”) from any claims or liability for illness and persona l injury (including death) or property damage arising from or connected with participation in the activity, even if the liability may arise out of the negligence or carelessness o f the District or its officers, employees and agents. I covenant not to make or bring any such claim against the District or any other Releasees, and forever release and discharge the District and all other Releasees from liability under such claims. I further agree to hold harmless, indemnify, and defend the District and all other Releasees against any and all losses, damages, liabilities, deficiencies, claims, actions, judgments, settlements, interest, awards, penalties, fines, costs, or expenses of whatever kin d, including attorney fees, fees and the costs of enforcing any right to indemnification under this Agreement, and the cost of pursuing any insurance providers, arising out of or resulting from any claim of a third party related to the activities, including any claims arising out of my own, or minor’s, negligence or the ordinary negligence of the District. In the event of injury or illness, I consent to and agree to be responsible for transportation to a medical facility and whatever examination, procedure or treatment cons idered necessary by the medical personnel. This Agreement is binding on my heirs, dependents, executors, administrators, and assigns. If any term or provision of this Agreement is held invalid, illegal, or unenforceable in any jurisdiction, such invalidity, i llegality, or unenforceability shall not affect any other term or provision of this Agreement or invalidate or render unenforceable such term or provision in any other jurisdiction. I agree to abide by any rules and regulations for the activity. I give consent to the Town of Discovery Bay Community Services District to photograph or video the participation for any legitimate purpose by the District or the sponsors of an activity. BY SIGNING BELOW, I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I HAVE READ AND FULLY UNDERSTOOD ALL OF THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT AND THAT I AM VOLUNTARILY GIVING UP SUBSTANTIAL LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO SUE THE DISTRICT FOR CLAIMS, ARISING OUT OF THE ACTIVITIES.
