RECREATION DEPARTMENT OFFICE INFORMATION
REGISTRATION Log on to www.ci.oakley.ca.us/registration to create an account and register online. For help contact our office at 925-625-7041.
PRE-REGISTRATION Please register at least one week prior to the class start date. Each class has a minimum enrollment requirement to cover the cost of the program. Early registration is recommended.
ACCOMODATIONS Please indicate special accommodations required on the registration form and speak to the program supervisor two weeks in advance of the program start date. To requires a copy of this guide in alternative formats please contact the Recreation Division at 925-625-7041.
LATE REGISTRATION Waiting until the start date or after to register may result in class cancellations. Class fees cannot be prorated, there will be no make up classes for participants who are absent from a scheduled class.
REFUNDS Refunds must be requested 2 weeks prior to the start of the first session. All facility and class refunds will be assessed a processing fee of $38. No refunds will be given after the program has started.
COVID-19 INFORMATION
The health safety and well being of our community is our priority when offering in-person programs, events and classes. To hold these programs we are continuing to follow CDPH, and CCHS requirements. As of March 8, 2022 the requirements below are in effect: Stay home if you are not feeling well. These guidelines are updated frequently and may change. If there are changes once you have registered you will be contacted via email.

GENTLE YOGA
Instructor: Gina Bravo In this Gentle Yoga class, we will explore restorative poses to calm and soothe the body. Through breath and the postures, practitioners will stretch the body and relax the mind. This is a class for all levels and all bodies. ONLINE DRIVER'S EDUCATION
Instructor: Bay Area Driving School The DMV allows teens to receive their Learner’s Permit at age 15.5 and a license at age 16. This class is the FIRST, required step that must be completed. This is an online course with videos, animated driving scenarios, and sample test questions. Learn the rules of the road, major causes of traffic collisions, DMV procedures, etc. A licensed instructor is available to answer any questions and you will receive a DMV-approved certificate of completion when you are done with the course. VIRTUAL DRIVER'S EDUCATION
Instructor: Bay Area Driving School This is a virtual Driver's Education with a live instructor. Students will enjoy a series of Driver's Education lectures including understanding the responsibilities of having a driver’s license, learning the rules of the road and accident avoidance procedures. Independent assignments will also be completed during the week. Course also includes practice questions, defensive driving movies and written test prep. Upon successful completion, students will receive a certificate of completion. Instructor: Max Academy Staff The Panda class is a physical and mental developmental program that helps young students enhance their coordination, locomotor skills, and balance. Simultaneously, students will learn important character skills like respect, focus, and perseverance. BIDDY SPORTS SOCCER
Instructor: Biddy Sports Biddy Soccer is a wonderful introduction to team sports. Boys and girls ages 3-7 years will receive a Biddy Sports shirt and learn the fundamentals of the sport and develop social skills in a fun, safe, and family-oriented environment. The younger group, 3-5 yrs, will be non-competitive but score will be introduced for the older teams, 6-7 yrs. Each week includes a fun warm-up, practice with your team, and playing a game. The time may vary from week-to-week, but your child always plays on Saturday, for one hour finishing by 11am. Parents support their child’s efforts and get involved by volunteering to coach their child’s team-please volunteer when you register. No coaching experience needed. The coaches training will take place on Sunday, June 5th. The deadline to register is Friday May 27, 2022. Sign up early, limited space is available. Instructor: Biddy Sports Biddy Flag Tag is a non-competitive intro to team sports where your child participates at their own level and ability. We use Nerf footballs and flags to play the non-contact game; boys and girls will receive a Biddy Sports shirt and will learn the basic fundamentals of "flag tag" while developing social skills in a fun, safe, and family-oriented environment. Each week includes a fun warm-up, practice with your team, and playing a game. FASHION RUNWAY 2: ROYAL PRINCESS
Instructor: Young Rembrandts Tri-Valley For everyone who dreams of being a princess, Young Rembrandts offers its “Medieval Fashion” Workshop. Join us for 5 days of beautiful medieval pageantry. During the first day of class, students will draw portraits showcasing medieval headwear. Medieval clothing will be explored, learn basic figure drawing and illustrate medieval-themed fashion accessories. More advanced figure drawing techniques and elaborate clothing will be drawn on the fourth day of class. The last day, we will see the accumulation of previous days’ teachings as the students create a large, wonderfully detailed medieval scene of a queen and her ladies in waiting. YOUTH CORE
We are excited to return to Summer Youth CORE! Middle and High School students will do community service such as litter clean up, pulling weeds and more during mornings and in the afternoon will do more traditional camp activities like arts and crafts, games, sports and water activities. Each week concludes with a fun field trip. Children should bring a bag lunch, snack (refrigeration and heating NOT available), water, towel, clothes they can get wet in and sunscreen each day. JUNIOR RECREATION LEADERS
The Junior Recreation Leader Program is designed to give students, ages 13-15 a chance to gain first hand experience in the recreation field. This can prepare youth for a variety of jobs in several fields. Youth interested in participating must complete an application and interview to be accepted into this program. Availability may result in not being selected for this program. Weekdays 6/13-7/22 8am-5pm 13-15 years old Oakley Rec Center Center We continue to monitor CDPH and CCCHS COVID-19 guidelines and those may change. As of March 14, 2022 masks are not required for participation. Children who are currently experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or who are required to quarantine based on State and County guidelines
