by Kyle Szymanski A week after the Brentwood City Council moved closer to finalizing a plan to pay for a portion of the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District’s fourth station for three years, the Oakley City Council and Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors have left the door open to the possibility of providing money for the effort. On Tuesday, the board of supervisors tentatively agreed to provide about $200,000 for each of the next two years, if the City of Oakley contributes funds and the agreement between Brentwood and the district is cancelled. Hours later, however, the Oakley City Council decided it needed more time to mull over the issue. “If we are going to participate in this, I want a better sense of what the numbers are, when the numbers are due and when it is critical that we have to participate in the process,” said Oakley City Councilmember Kevin Romick. The district’s fourth station, in Knightsen, is expected to close in June, if additional funds aren’t found. Brentwood Mayor Bob Taylor said it’s too early to know

Young Life Capernaum is hosting its second-annual Joy Prom, a full-scale prom for young adults with special needs, on Saturday, April 22.
