Brian Kersten Wisconsin

Brian Kersten Wisconsin, originally from a farm in Appleton, has dedicated his life to veterinary medicine, inspired by his early experiences with animals. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Minnesota, graduating with high distinction in 1977, and obtained his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1983. These academic achievements laid the groundwork for a career characterized by exceptional care and a deep commitment to the welfare of animals. In 2021, recognizing the need for more accessible veterinary care, he founded the Mercy Veterinary Service in Baldwin, Wisconsin. This clinic provides low-cost veterinary services, specializing in small animal medicine, surgery, and dentistry. It ensures that pets receive necessary care regardless of their owners' financial means. His work at this clinic demonstrates his dedication and has earned him the trust and respect of clients and colleagues. Additionally, he serves the community as a relief veterinarian in Amery, Wisconsin. He began working in a mixed animal practice in Burlington, Wisconsin, but in 1985, he shifted focus to humanitarian work, spending 2.5 years in Haiti. After returning to the U.S. in 1987, he purchased a veterinary practice in Baldwin, which he managed until 2003.
