Next, the Chamber continues to work with a committee exploring transportation alternatives for bicycle and pedestrian friendly infrastructure with a $25,000 grant from WYDOT. This topic is critically important to our tourism and retail economy. If you are interested, be sure you attend our first public planning meeting at the Lander Community and Convention Center on September 6 at 6:00 p.m. Also, our Lander LIVE season was a huge success! Thanks to all those who helped us reach our community donation goal of $15,000, including Michelle Motherway of Mr. D’s Food Center who provided a critical last minute matching

T
he Leadership Fremont County Program was founded in 2003 by a joint steering committee comprised of representatives from the Riverton Chamber of Commerce, Lander Chamber of Commerce, Wind River Indian Reservation, Dubois
Community Project, City of Riverton, City of Lander, NOLS, and Central Wyoming College. The purpose of the program is to introduce and orient established and prospective leaders to the great community of Fremont County, identify individuals who have displayed a strong
tendency toward civic involvement, and assist them in developing their potential to become community leaders. Leadership Fremont County is a series of nine sessions over a 9-month period covering such areas as leadership skills, decision-making, strategic planning and coalitionbuilding. Important topics that will be examined include area history, economic development, social-economic factors, tourism & marketing, education, and tribal history and relations. Leadership Fremont County is now accepting applications for the 20162017 class which begins in September. The cost is $375 for the program and employers often sponsor an employee.
This is an absolute-must for anyone wanting a next step in developing their professional network and leadership skills. Carol King 2015 Leadership Fremont County Participant Associate Director, Lander Chamber of Commerce
