POINTS TO PONDER
Kick Off Summer 2024 at Lander Brewfest ~ Presented by Fremont Toyota!
Now in its third decade, Lander Brewfest has earned a reputation as one of the premier craft brew festivals in the Rocky Mountain West
More than 30 Brewers -- and 6 Distillers!
Once more, we will be joined by more than 30 brewers serving upwards of 100 different styles of beer and cider. And -- for the first time ever -- six Wyoming distillers will be on hand serving whiskey, gin, vodka, tequila, and other spirits! Beer or spirits, pick your pleasure: there will be plenty of finely crafted drinks to sample!
Delicious Food from Popular Wyoming Food Trucks!
We make a point of seeking out excellent vendors who will serve up food worthy of excellent beer and spirits. Riverton’s Bunk’s BBQ and Gary’s Rojo o Verde will be back, as well Mima’s Texas Style Brisket Tacos from Saratoga Lander Brewfest newcomer Hangry’s Food Truck will be down from Dubois serving up their handmade bagel sandwiches, and the Lander Kiwanis will be cooking good ol’ hot dogs and hamburgers
Live Music! Americana/Folk and Afro-Latin Salsa Funk!
Playing Friday will be The Two Tracks from Sheridan. American Songwriter magazine writes that the band “avoids many of the cliches and gimmicks that have grown common in the Americana world while still championing a natural, Earth-grown sound. To hear an acoustic quartet reach a level of dynamic and thematic intensity like The Two Tracks does is an immeasurably rewarding experience. It’s pure musicianship, it’s pure excellence, it’s pure Americana.”
Hailing from Billings, Montana, and playing on Saturday, John Roberts y Pan Blanco brings many years of national and international touring, recording, and performing experiences with Funk, Soul, Salsa, Orchestral, West African, and Jazz ensembles This group melds high-energy Funk, African, and Latin grooves with soulful instrumental solos, aimed at sharing musical and cultural diversity with the audience Bring your dancing shoes!
THANK YOU, Sponsors!
Simply said, Lander Brewfest’s ever-growing reputation as “The Best Little Brewfest in the West” would not be without the enthusiastic and generous support of our sponsors; they’re all listed on the next page. Please thank them with your patronage!

U.S. House and Senate Introduce Legislation to Repeal Onerous Small Business Data Reporting Rule
This past January, beneficial ownership reporting requirements went into effect as part of the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA), impacting more than 32 million small businesses. The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) (of which the Landre Chamber is a member) supports legislation introduced by U.S. Representative Warren Davidson (OH-08) and U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (AL) to repeal the CTA. The CTA requires corporations, LLCs, or similar entities with 20 or fewer employees and $5 million or less in gross receipts or sales, as reflected in the previous year’s federal tax return, to report their beneficial ownership information to a new federal database maintained by the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) “It [the CTA] also allows state, federal, and international law enforcement nearly unfettered access to a database containing the private and sometimes confidential information of millions of small business owners,” explained Jeff Brabant, NFIB Vice President of Federal Government Relations. “The Corporate Transparency Act is beyond repair, and NFIB applauds Sen. Tuberville and Rep. Davidson for introducing legislation to repeal it.”
Federal Government’s Credit Card Late Fees Rule Put on Pause
Americans benefit from a wide variety of credit cards from numerous financial services providers that let them find one that best suits their needs. However, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s (CFPB) concerning new rule would alter credit card late fee regulations, resulting in higher costs for existing credit card users who pay their bills on time and fewer options for those looking for a new credit card. The CFPB’s rule changes would punish responsible consumers who pay their credit card bills on time by forcing them to subsidize the costs of those who don’t. If the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau wants to protect consumers, it shouldn’t raise costs for responsible consumers who pay on time. The rule is harmful and misguided, and the agency should withdraw it at once.
New U.S. Department of Labor Overtime Rule Hurts Small Businesses
The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) released a new overtime rule that will raise the salary threshold for overtime pay eligibility eginning July 1, salaried workers making less than $43,888 will become eligible for overtime pay, and on Jan. 1, 2025, eligibility extends to those making less than $58,656. Employees earning salaries below these thresholds will be paid at least time-and-a-half for working beyond 40 hours in a single workweek. Part of the Fair Labor Standards Act, the new rule is a 65% increase from the current threshold of $35,568. The rule further states the eligibility threshold is subject to change every three years. NFIB opposed this rule and plans to join a legal challenge against it
