THANKYOU, CATALYST
LEVEL MEMBERS!
Are you looking for ways to contribute your time and talent to promoting Lander and its businesses? To strengthening the regional economy? To representing the interests of the business community in front of government? Consider yourself invited to apply for membership on one of our committees or on our board of directors.
Although the Chamber employs professional staff, much of the work of a chamber of commerce is performed by volunteer committees, including its board of directors. In essence, committees or task forces are groups of chamber members engaged in the work of community leadership.
The Chamber currently has openings on our board of directors and three of our committees, which are structured around our program of work.
Our Business Retention & Workforce Development Committee works together with our Programs & Events Committee to better align our event offerings with our efforts to support and develop our members’ businesses. We want to provides tools and resources for businesses to stay, grow, and thrive in Lander.
Our Destination Lander Committee focuses on our area’s robust tourism and hospitality sector. Members work to develop Lander as a destination and administer Tourism Asset Development (TAD) funds provided by the lodging tax, including the oversight of TAD grantmaking.
Our Government Affairs Committee seeks to adopt public policy positions that speak, where feasible, with the unified voice of our business community.
If you would like to serve on our board of directors or on one of our committees, please send a letter of interest to Chamber board members Ann Espinosa at annespinosarealty@gmail.com and Chris VonHoltum at cvonholtum@centralbanktrust.com

THE FIVE NON-NEGOTIABLES OF THIS ROLE ARE:
You can manage a project from conception to completion. A large part of this role is creating and adhering to work plans and deadlines, drafting budgets, and moving simultaneous projects forward to completion.
You can write and speak well. You’ll be creating social media ads and posts, announcements, ads, news stories, and blog posts across various media. You’ll be appearing on local radio and podcasts. You’ll be executing contracts with vendors, suppliers, and musical performers. Clear and concise communication skills are an absolute must, and we will expect to see samples of your previous work. You’re tech-savvy. You must be comfortable with technology and able to learn quickly how to use new tools and technologies. While we don’t expect you to be familiar with all of the tools we use, we do expect you to be comfortable with them and able to pick up the concepts. You don’t need a babysitter. Often, it will be your job to determine what needs to happen, when, and how. While your questions seeking clarification are expected and encouraged, the attitude of continually starting things on your own is very important. You play well with others. There is no place here for know-it-alls. Your attitude will play a large role in whether you are hired and whether you are retained.
Email your résumé and cover letter in pdf format to director@landerchamber.org. Your letter should explain why you want to work for the Lander Chamber of Commerce and what interests you about this particular role. Apply by FRIDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2023.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. One of the most important steps we can take is to research and educate ourselves about ways to reduce our risk of breast cancer, how to check for warning signs, and when to schedule breast cancer screenings.
Featured Left: Lander Medical Clinic's experienced Radiology Team, Kathy Kroeger and Danielle Hartenstein, provide personalized care with the utmost sensitivity and kindness.
According to the American Cancer Society, about 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will develop invasive breast cancer during their lifetime. Screening mammography is the only method proven to reduce deaths due to breast cancer by detecting breast cancer early.
Regular screening mammography, starting at age 40 years, is recommended by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
At Lander Medical Clinic, we're proud to offer women the chance to have breast cancer screenings in a comfortable primary care setting that makes scheduling easy and appointments accessible. Our 3D imaging services provide accuracy that helps considerably reduce diagnostic misses.
With Breast Cancer Awareness Month right around the corner, it's the perfect time to remind every woman to prioritize their health. Early detection is your best defense against breast cancer, and you can complete your exam in as little as thirtyminutes - then be on with your day.
There's nothing better than peace of mind. Call and schedule your regular mammogram today!
