Play more music, save the planet

Throughout all my research, the most powerful way I found to reduce impact was through extending the life of the product and increase its use. So, play more music, and do your part to make our planet a healthier place to live.

Dan has stage 2 prostate cancer. The effects from chemo have been taxing on his health, mentally and physically. He spends a lot of time staring at the ceiling, bored.

He decides to check his glass window. He swipes left and the screen mimics a sliding window. The hospital can be boring with little to do.

I want to hold your hand. Holding IVY’s handle generates a calming pulse when the patient moves around the hospital. Where you go, IVY follows.

In case of an emergency. Mote is equiped with an accelerometer to alert IVY if a patient falls. Interviews with nurses at the Seattle Cancer Hospital brought up fall detection as a serious health risk for patients.

Fading technology into the background. Ultimately, our goal was to improve the path of the chemotherapy patient in some real way. With IVY, we designed and created a constant companion and friend to every patient it touches. This project was a great opportunity to develop and refine empathy for users in real challenging cercumstances.
