March 9, 2014 Dallas Design Group, Interiors 100 Glass St. Suite 201 Dallas, TX 75207

Tamra Canoe, I am writing to express my continued interest in Dallas Design Group, Interiors and inquire about any fulltime positions available within the firm. I am currently enrolled at Washington State University as a senior Interior Design student and will be graduating in May 2014.

Throughout my years at Washington State University, I have spent a great deal of time involved in the design program as well as the Pullman community. Within the University and design program, I have participated in multiple undergraduate research showcase events presenting year long community projects, held leadership positions within the Interior Design Student Council and served as a representative on the CAHNRS student senate. I am currently involved in conducting qualitative research on crossdisciplinary design collaboration and for the past four years have engaged in participatory design with project stakeholders. I have been actively involved in service activities within the Pullman community with organizations like Habitat for Humanity and CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates).

With the attached resume you will find computer skills that I have developed over the last five years and technical courses that I have completed which include Revit, building codes and also construction detailing. I have earned a minor in business administration in order to understand the technical aspects of a design firm. I have also completed three internships as a student designer that have opened my eyes to how multiple design businesses function and has given me the knowledge of what types of tasks I would be completing on a daily basis. Specifically to Dallas Design Group, I am already familiar with the functions of the design groups within the office due to my previous internship at the firm. More importantly, I know how each individual designer functions and how they prefer tasks to be completed. I work well with the design staff and have established relationships with many reps in the area. The minor has opened my eyes to see the business side of situations while also improving my skills to communicate with clients and strengthening my presentation skills. With the opportunity to intern for a few companies throughout the United States as well as work as a designer for my fathers construction business, I have been exposed to the high expectations of young designers in the industry.

I have considerable talent, enthusiasm, and passion to offer your company and I would love the opportunity to work with your organization and expand my design skills full-time. I realize that there is not a current position open at this time but it would be great to meet with you personally to discuss a potential future with your company. I look forward to hearing back from you soon,

Brianna M. Martensen
