Brian Hickey is an award-winning designer, content creator and author. He has worked in the publishing industry for many years and has co-authored four books on collectable toys. In March 2020, Brian’s photo Drive ’75, featuring vintage M.A.S.K. toys, was shortlisted for inclusion in the prestigious Royal Hibernian Academy’s 190th Annual Exhibition.  In January 2021, Brian was the recipient of a Silver Award Winner at the 14th International Design Awards for his graphic design of the exhibition Músaem an Gharda Síochána (the museum for the History of Policing in Ireland). In June 2021, he successfully crowdfunded the production of his book Total Action Force: The Battle Years, raising more than €32,000. Volume 2 is currently in production and was crowdfunded earlier in 2022 raising just over €36,000. In September 2021, Brian collaborated with the Museum of Steam in Straffan to produce a series of images depicting a zombie apocalypse, which featured model steam trains from the museum’s antique collection. The photos were exhibited in the museum as part of Culture Night, an annual event celebrating the arts in Ireland. In January 2022, he was the recipient of two awards at the 15th International Design Awards for his work on the virtual reality short film The Gates of Hell for Wicklow Gaol Museum. His book Total Action Force: The Battle Years also received an Honourable Mention. Throughout his career Brian has worked with acclaimed toy designers, Boss Fight Studio, designing for a number of their licensed products, including Pop Eye, Bucky O’Hare and Sam & Max.  His clients include The Government of Ireland, The Office of The President of Ireland, and renowned singer/songwriter Paul Brady.
