Yes! You can have your own TV show on the New York Emmy-nominated Brooklyn Free Speech. The cool since 1988 Public Access television station empowers TV and film artists to make their dreams a reality. 1. Attend a free orientation at BRIC House or a Brooklyn Public Library location to gain free access to equipment, television studios, and facilities. 2. Become a Certified Community Producer by successfully completing one, or all of our certification courses. 3. Contact our programming department at 718.683.5643 to schedule airdates.

Upon successful course completion, you will become a Certified Community Producer. Navigate Premiere’s interface, import footage; and work with b-roll, audio, still images, basic effects, and transitions. Students will edit a short video segment by the end of the course.

DOCUMENTARY INTENSIVE certification course

In this course, we will guide you through all of the stages of creating a documentary. In the pre-production phase you’ll develop a documentary style, choose a subject, target an audience, and draft a production timeline for your film. In the production phase you will learn how to use our top of the line Canon C100 and 70D DSLR cameras and audio equipment to shoot your documentary. In the postproduction phase, you’ll edit your film using Adobe Premiere Pro and learn about distributing your film.
