ABOUT
Hello there I am Brittney, but everyone calls me “Bri” these days. I am a professional photographer from a small town outside of Houston called Sugar Land, and my husband, James, is a cameraman/director of photography from Sydney, Australia. We got married 5 years ago in a backyard river wedding from a quick engagement after meeting in Austin over Superbowl weekend. Today, we are raising our one-year old, Rafferty,--"Raff" or “Raffi” for short.
As a photogapher, I have spent so much time in lightroom trying to find "my style." I was able to do this so easily for my clients, as I know how to find light and build an image for other people, but when I became a mom and wanted to start documenting my days with my son, I turned the camera on me and my home for the first time, and I felt a bit lost and out of my element. I struggled finding an authentic--and, frankly--simple, way to capture our small moments. My "style" and editing was changing by the day, and it felt as though I was learning to walk all over. But through the process, I learned how to make my space and our life work for a beautiful and cohesive feed.
My heart for custom presets is to make the process ENJOYABLE. To take the real you, your real life, your real rhythm, and to create a versatile and simple way for you to take control capturing and editing your photos in a way you can be proud of, as well as offering a few "pro" tips along the way. It can be a bit daunting, whether you are a Lightroom amatuer or expert, to try and create a versatile preset that you can use on all of your photos in order to create content that flows and makes sense together. It is easy to think that if you could just find the right preset, you would create the images you desired. I, too, have found myself purchasing every preset on the market, but what I finally came to really understand is that a preset can go a long way, but a preset is the second step. Before you edit, learning to take better photos, or photos more like the content you are wanting to create will help your preset work best for you. That stated, when you purchase a custom preset, you are investing in an idea, a vision for yourself. We will look at your current work or feed, see what stands out, talk about where you are wanting to take your work, your infludences and the work you love, as well as the style and emotion you would like to emphasize in your images. With this, I will use your unedited images and create a preset specifcially for you. So many times, we see someone else's work or feed and want "that look." But the reality is that we will never have another perany photo exactly, and as difficult as it can be to let go of the idea of imitation, the best gift I can offer is indivudulisation. It is my privlage to help you get there with a cutsom preset and a bit of training in lighting, content creation and editing to get you on your way to

A preset should be considered a starting point--nay, an expression of you. Just like a killer wardrobe, change the way you feel. However, a dress can frame you well, show your shape, be a good color for you, or elevate your style. And likewise, a great custom preset can make the most of your images. Like anything in life, the best things take effort. Learning to work with your images and getting creative with your content will get you the best use of your custom preset.
