hen someone asks me what I do for a living I usually tell them that I live every little girls dream. I could just tell them that I am the Editor in Chief of a bridal magazine that focuses specifically on beauty and fashion. But I never do… when someone asks me what I do for a living I tell them that I wake up every morning and I get to play with makeup and hair, and beautifully created gowns for a girl’s most important day. I get to travel around the country and meet amazing people and I get to work with some of my very best friends day in and day out. I am unbelievably blessed. According to my mom I had my wedding planned when I was 6 and like just like Liv and Emma from the movie bride wars I would dress up and play wedding day with my little sister. It was the start of something that grew right from my heart, it was passion. From the time that I was really young I have had a passion for all things love and romance; for you see I am one of those truly hopeless romantics and the thought of finding your prince and falling madly in love always makes me a little giddy. Disney may have played a role in my thinking as a child but as I grew up I found a love for the written word and thanks to my grandmother I found a love for the great romances. They were always stories filled with love and passion and usually happily ever after. This is the first issue of Bridal Beauty and I hope that it will inspire as much passion in you as it does in me. Every person who works at this magazine has a passion and a love for what they do (it is a job requirement). And now that you have fallen in love with your very own Prince Charming I hope that my team and I will be there to guide you through this major journey in your life, and straight to the start of your happily ever after. Your wedding day should be one of the happiest days of your life, trust me when I say you will not remember everything but for me I know that the one thing I remember is the look that was on my
husband to be’s face the first time he saw me in my dress with my perfect hair and perfect makeup ready to become his wife. He told me later that he had never seen anything more beautiful than me at that moment. I want that for all of you. I want you to have that perfect moment when you look at him and you just know that you are his whole world. I would love Bridal Beauty to become like a good friend to you on this journey. I want you be able to pick it up every month and read the latest makeup trends from the amazing Troy Jensen, the must have supporting cast article from Meg, the newest hair tricks from Kristine or this month’s Say I do to the Shoe section from Susie. These are some of my best friends and I want to share them with you because let’s face it when it comes to your wedding the more friends that are willing to help you distress the better! This part of your life will be crazy no doubt it is one of the shortest times with the most packed in to it. The stress is high, but just remember to breathe, cause at the end of that crazy day the only thing that truly matter is looking over at the man you love and realizing that today you became his wife and he is yours forever. Best Wishes,
Amanda Laurence Amanda Laurence, Editor-In-Chief
BEHIND THE BEAUTY n e s n e J y Tro
Cover Look
In my career I have glammed some of the most beautiful women in the world. Beauty icons like Halle Berry, Ashley Judd, Kim Kardashian, and Cameron Diaz. I’ve glammed Royal princesses, socialites, reality stars, and pop stars like Nicole Scherzinger, Faith Hill, and Jennifer Lopez, as well as beauties on the big screen like Rachel McAdams, Salma Hayek, and Gwyneth Paltrow. I have also had the honor of working with many amazing women on the day they became a bride. Working with brides is such a unique experience for me. Every time I book a wedding because of my schedule it is very last minute and I’m only booked to glam the bride but almost every time I walk into that room I get caught up in the creative chos of the day. By the time I am done I have glammed the entire wedding party. From hair of the mothers, or reshaping the eyebrows of the bridesmaids or giving a quick manicure cause someone really needs it. I just can’t help myself. It is an amazing experience because when I leave that party they are all gorgeous and so very thankful for all that I have done for them. It is why I am so excited about being the Executive Beauty Editor at Bridal Beauty Magazine, cause even though I can’t be there to glam each of you. You can take my beauty tips and techniques, fav products and creative vision to inspire you while getting ready on your special day. A wedding is like your very own red carpet event and for me preparing for one is a lot like getting a celebrity client ready for their red carpet walk at
the Oscars. When it comes to coming up with the perfect look I always start with pulling references from magazines movies and photography, fashion beauty books. For this issue I was inspired by the great Italian beauties Sophia Loren and Monica Vitti. To me these women are the epitome of beautiful, sensual, femininity and that is what I wanted to express in my first cover for Bridal Beauty Magazine. When collecting research for my first cover titled A Violet Romance, I looked at everything from the runway, to the red carpet to real life, taking inspirations of each. The violet purple and bronze eye look was inspired by the models on the runway this fall. The lose waved swept updo gives an effortless style that is similar to the red carpet inspired look of actresses such as Charlize Theron, Jennifer Lawrence and Lauren Conrad. Headbands in gold and bronze is a popular trend this season, some are simple and some are jeweled with crystals and precious stones. It gave a romantic touch on my Bridal Beauty cover look. As the Executive Beauty Editor of Bridal Beauty Magazine I intend to bring all of my favorite beauty trends, products, tips and creative vision to you every month. Gauneented every month you will see my Editor’s picks of the month so that you can achieve a similar look at home. For more tips, tricks and trends make sure to follow us on Twitter @itstroyjensen and @jbridalbeauty.
“Bronze and purple gave a romantic edge to this season smokey eye on my cover model Kate. The look is warm, rich, and vibrant. Whenever doing a strong eye I like to keep the lip neutral or pale.”

ONE-ON-ONE
Every month our readers get the opportunity to ask our Excutive Beauty Editor, any makeup and beauty question that they are dying to know for their upcoming weddings. So if you have a question that you are dying to know the answer to email TroyJensen@ bridalbeautymag.com or hit him up on Twitter @ itstroyjensen. This month I got to ask Troy all of my questions and I love the history behind his amazing career.
BB: When did you know a career in beauty was for you?
BB: You do makeup on tons of celebrities every year both bridal and red carpet so what do you think the best way to adapt a red carpet look to a brides white carpet day? Tory: I have traveled
Troy: I was always into art and painting. I would draw all the pretty girls in my class. I was always drawn to old movies, fashion and beauty. When I got the opportunity to do make up. It was a medium that I felt very comfortable with. I would study the work of Make up Artist Way Bandy and recreate the looks he did with photographer Francesco Scavullo.. I got into the entertainment industry pretty soon after starting out. I was about 18 years old when I made up my first celebrity. I’ve been doing it ever since.
internationally for both Red Carpet events. Film Premieres all over Europe, Asia, and Australia. I have traveled to Europe for celebrity and Royal Brides. I love being a part of the process. From the dress to designing the look. There was a time I got to fly into Paris and meet Jean Paul Gaultier for a dress fitting. It was an amazing experience. Red carpet make up is very much like Bridal make up. The difference is that the Bride gets to feel like a movie star for the day. It’s her red carpet moment. For Celebrities, Red carpet events are the norm and getting glamorous is part of their job.
BB: What are your favorite
Fall/Winter 2013 beauty trends for brides? Troy: I use trends as inspiration, But
it’s more about the bride herself then any trend. This Fall/Winter season is different than last year. Last year I did looks with metallic eyes and bright

lips. This year I’m inspired by softer, feminine looks. I am inspired by Iconic beauties like Monica Vitti and Audrey Hepburn. Classic, pretty and natural. Flawless skin with a soft glow and eyes and lips that don’t over power the face.
What three makeup items should no woman leave home without?
Troy: Three? That’s like that
question. “If you were on a deserted Island”.. lol. I think most women need more than three items to look their best. I think it’s more about learning and discovering what a woman wants to look like. Then the discovery process is finding the way and what is needed to achieve the desired look. The “Three” Products should then be what she needs to maintain or touch up the look. But if I had to select just three. I would say- 1. A tinted moisturizer, CC or BB cream . 2. A Tinted Lip Balm in a sheer bright shade of pink, peach or raisin. 3. A black waterproof mascara in a thickening formula.
You’ve done such beautiful work on so
many celebrities. Who have you not worked on that you’d kill to get into your chair?
Troy: In my career I have worked
with many movie stars, pop stars, TV/ Reality stars as well as Socialites, princesses, and professionals. They were all amazing to work with. I admire so many famous women. Like Michelle Obama, Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Moss and Debbie Harry.. I have a wish list..
What has been the biggest challenge of your career?
Troy: If a Bride has set aside money
to get a professional skin care treatment before her wedding day, what treatment do you recommend, and how soon before her wedding should she go? *I wouldn’t recommend any type of skin treatments the day of the wedding. If a client wanted a facial. I would send them to my friend
Candice Tchor at Skin Deep in Beverly Hills. At least a day or two before the wedding day. I also wouldn’t suggest getting a spray tan with in a week of the wedding day.
Not everyone has the funds for a professional treatment. What are some extra steps a bride can do at home so that she looks her best on her big day?
Troy: I suggest setting a trial day.
Hair style, make up. So you know exactly how everything works. Also be sure to take pictures so you can see how the look will photograph. You might need a touch of bronzer or a little more eye make up. Or the hair might need a little more volume. A practice day can help make the wedding day run much smoother.
Are there any skin care no no’s that a bride should be aware of when she’s planning her
pre-wedding skin care schedule?
Troy: Yes! Don’t
do any evasive skin treatments close to the wedding day. Treatments like Botox, Filler, Chemical Peels can look great when done by a specialist, but still need time to heal and everyone is different. Don’t take any unnecessary risks.
The big day has arrived, and no bride wants to have dull skin or at the opposite end, shiny skin. What products do you recommend brides have on hand the day of the wedding?
Troy: Just cleanse skin with a
gentle cleanser and use a light moisturizer. It’s important to know your skin. For dry skin. A gentle exfoliation the night before and apply a rich moisturizer. Be sure to lightly exfoliate the lips too. A gentle Buff Puff does the trick. For Oily or combination skin. Don’t over moisturize on the day of the wedding. Over moisturizing can cause the make up to crease.

Steal HerSt yle During her time at the Cannes Film Festival, Celebrity Makeup Artist Lisa Eldridge had the opportunity to make up the stunningly beautiful, Jessica Biel. She called this look Premiere night. Jessica hit the red carpet with her equally charming husband Justin Timberlake - cute couple alert! Lisa did a soft look with a ballerina feel. To complement the rather stunning silvery grey Marchessa dress. The tones used were all muted with a rosy glow and simply defined eyes. A classic and pretty look perfect for any bride.

Start by applying a few drops of Dove Nourishing Oil Care Anti-Frizz Serum to damp hair and comb through. The natural almond and coconut oils in the serum will give locks extra moisture and shine.
Next, add a large dollop of Dove Nourishing Curls Whipped Cream Mousse to hair and blow dry with a large round brush.

Add a nickel size amount of Dove Frizz-Free Shine Cream-Serum in your hands and rake through the hair to create texture and shine.
Taking random pieces from each side, loosely twist and pin together at the back of the head with eight bobby pins in crosses.
rocks the red carpet Dove Celebrity Stylist Mark Townsend used Dove products to make Jennifer red carpet ready. “Jennifer Lawrence is a dream to work with, she is so unbelievably fun and inspiring.” Follow these directions from Mark to get a simalr look.
Jennifers Makeup: To get Jennifer’s subtle smokey eye, use NYX’s Love in Rio palette in the shade Mo Rockin’ Beats. Use the middle, silver shade to color the entire eyelid. Then, use the black to shade within the crease. Use the light, white shade to highlight under the eyebrows and dab in the inner corner of the eyes. Use black eyeliner to line the eyes and then add individual false lashes for extra glamour. Jennifer also had a slightly frosty pink lip gloss
5
Jennifers Manicure:
Jen matched her pale pink couture dress with COVERGIRL Outlast Nail Gloss in Forever Frosted. According to COVERGIRL, Jen “chose the color because she wanted something understated and classic, that was opaque but dressier than a sheer nude.” She looked so amazing! To get in the Oscars spirit, be sure to pick up COVERGIRL’s nail color called “Silver Linings” — everyone can be a winner!
Finally, take the remaining hair and gather it into a loose, playful bun. Finish with Dove Strength & Shine Extra Hold Hairspray.
Q.
The Bridal Beauty Question
How do I chose the perfect hairstyle for my wedding?
A.
Your wedding hairstyle should reflect your personality. Although it should look brilliant and stunning it should not make you feel uncomfortable. If you are feeling overwhelmed when trying to make a decision on which hairstyle you should go with on your wedding day here are a few tips to pick the perfect wedding hairstyle:
Choose Your Dress First
You should choose you dress first before you decide on anything else. Everything should coordinate around your dress. From your shoes to your accessories they should work in harmony with your dress. Even the flowers that you carry or put in your hair should go with your dress. A wedding hairstylist should be able to help you make a decision with the dress you have chosen. A hairstyle should not be based on something you have dreamed of as a child. It should be a hairstyle that actually goes with your dress.
Be Realistic
It is good idea to know your hair. It is also a good idea to know what your hair is capable of and what it is not. You should be aware of what type of texture your hair is and what type of styles your hair is capable of holding. Before coordinating with your wedding hairstylist pick out a few different hairstyles to bring along with you to your appointment.
This way you can discuss your options and ideas with your hairstylist. Your hair should be based on what type of style would work best for you. You should also put into consideration what time of year it will be. Along with the weather conditions that you will encounter on your wedding day.
Be Prepared To Be Flexible
After showing your hairstylists your ideas and considering all the options be prepared to be flexible. Your wedding hairstylist may point out some potential problems with the styles you have picked out. Your hairstylist may suggest some other options that will work better for you. Your style may be adjusted depending on whether you will wear a veil or flowers in your hair.
Book A Trial
If your unsure of what you really wont you can always test your hairstyle out before your big day. You can actually try out a few
different looks to see which one you really like the most. You can book an appointment with your wedding hairstylist to get a bridal hairstyle trial. This should not cost a fortune and can help you to make a better decision. This can also help you make a decision if your hairstylist is right for you and will be able to give you the wedding hairstyle you desire.
The Veil
For those that decide not to wear a veil this may be an easier decision for you to make. Although it is not necessary in many situations to wear a veil certain religions and ceremonies may require it. For those who have decide to wear a veil your hairstyle should be based around it. For those who have decided not to wear a veil you will have more hairstyle options to choose from. You may also decide to wear a fascinators instead of a veil. Depending on which fascinators you choose it should highlight and compliment your wedding hairstyle while giving you the look that you desire.
6 thing to do to prep your hair for the big day Your wedding day has almost arrived and everything is in place. You also have finally made a decision on the type of hairstyle you will wear. It’s now time to get those last minute details put in place. For this special occasion you have decided to go with an Updo. As you prepare yourself to be the most beautiful bride who has ever glided down the aisle you stop to think for a minute. Is there anything I need to know when preparing for an updo? Here is a list of what every bride should know about going to the salon on her wedding day:
1
To Wash or Not To Wash:
When preparing to get an updo you should wash your hair the night before you go to the salon. Washing your hair right before your appointment will strip your hair of the natural oils making it hard to manage. If you wash your hair the night before this will allow enough time for the natural oils to build up. In return your hair will be easier to control and style.
What To Wear:
You should wear comfortable clothing to your appointment. It is also important to wear a shirt that can be easily removed without destroying your updo. Button down shirts or ones that zip would be the best solution. As these shirts will not go over your head and mess up your hair.
3
Know What You Want:
You should have already decided on what exactly you want out of an updo. If you have not already discussed this with your wedding hairstylist you may have to bring a picture. By bringing a picture of the hairstyle your stylist will be able to know exactly what you are wanting. Also when picking an updo you should pick a style that your hair texture is similar too. Along with picking a updo that matches the same color hair and length as yours.
No Pain No Gain:
Expect a little pain while getting your hair done. There will be a little poking and pulling going on. You may also feel like you are getting stabbed in the head when your stylist is applying the pins. This is all part of the process. Just remember you are going to look great afterwords.
5
Appointments:
4
It is a good idea to schedule an appointment with your hairstylist in advance. This way your wedding hairstylist will be prepared to get you down the aisle on time and looking fabulous. Making a surprise visit to your salon in hopes of getting an appointment at the last minute is probably not going to go so well. It will most likely end in disaster. You could be delayed, your stylist could be out of town, or you may be unable to have an appointment at all.
Pricing and Tipping:

When you get out of the shower and your hair is all nice and clean; spray a bit of Garnier Fructis’s heat protection onto your hair and work it through with a comb or brush. Next, I want you to blow-dry your hair using a paddle brush. When you are blow-drying the front section of your hair, part it to the side and make sure you are drying it in the direction that it is going to be parted. After your hair is completely dry, pull it up into a high ponytail. Make sure that the part you created earlier stays intact. Use some White Rain’s extreme hold styling gel to make those fly aways lay down nicely. Then take a half inch section from the underside of the ponytail and wrap it around the hair tie; securing it with bobby pins to hide the elastic. Now, tease the hair at the base of the ponytail to give it more volume, and curl the hair hanging down with a curling iron of your choice. Lastly, you need to use a little bit of hairspray to keep the curl in place! I recommend Aussie’s Mega hairspray.

Andrea thought Robert was the cutest boy in her fifth grade class, but he transferred schools before she could work her charm. When they met again in high school, they hung out with the same group only to lose touch after graduation. One night years later, Robert was in one of Andrea’s dreams, so she called him to see what he was up to and they met for dinner at Robert’s apartment (he cooked eggplant parmesan!). As they rekindled their friendship they developed crushes on each other and soon started dating. The bride: Andrea Tropeano, 32, teacher The room: Robert Strouse, 32, chemical dependency counsellor The Date: 8 August Nine months later, Robert took Andrea to Point Fermin Lighthouse in San Pedro, his favourite place to watch the sunset, and proposed.
An Etsy seller custommade a ring pillow and flower girl bag with birds that matched the ones on Andrea and Robert’s invitations. Andrea picked up bright-yellow chrysanthemums at the Los Angeles Flower District and wrapped them tightly together with green ribbon.

The Watters 2013 collection is lush with colour, ruffles, lace, pleats and pretty details plus we’ve got world famous designer Vatana Watters to talk us through the designs. Before I hand you over to the inspirational Ms Watters let me introduce you… Vatana is the President and Fouwnder of Watters the innovative design house that serves up fresh and modern styles for the bride as well as her bridesmaids, flower girls and mother. Over the past year I have fallen in love with this polished brand and the team behind the scenes who are thoroughly charming. So let’s take a tour through the Watters 2013 collection with expert Vatana as our guide. Youthful. Fun. Spirited. These are the words that come to mind when we think of a Watters bride, and when we think of owner and designer Vatana Watters.
BB: What Inspired you to become a designer? Watters: It all started in 1985; I
was making a few handmade dresses for friends and family. I ended up selling bridesmaids dresses in Neiman Marcus and now offer bridal gowns, flower girls and special occasion dresses around the globe. BB: What is the best part of your job? Watters: Interacting with the real
brides, listening to their stories and how Watters made their day extra special. BB: What is your favorite trend right now? Watters: Lace! I love the
wwchallenge of reinventing lace and making it delicate, lady like, and fresh. Brides do not want to look like they are wearing their grandmother lace wedding gown. At Watters, we love to cut the lace apart
and re-embroider it to create a unique lace pattern. BB: Who, what and where inspires you? Watters: My inspiration comes
from traveling. I travel though out North America, Europe and Asia, I pay attention to their cultures, architecture and fabrics native to each area and bring it back with me. A recent romantic trip to Europe inspired our spring 2014 collection. BB: What do you love about brides? Watters: Brides are really fear-
less now-a-days. They are taking risk and pushing the envelope which makes us step up our game.
BB:How have brides changed since you started Watters? Watters: We continually work
to give the changing faces of our brides what they want. We
continue to touch our brides at trunk shows and through social media. Our highly successful Watters division of bridal and bridesmaids is focused on the luxury side of bridal at an attainable price. The Wtoo by Watters is focused on a wider audience of brides and bridesmaids that we infused with fashion at a more affordable value. Giving our brides and their parties what they want. This is what we strive for. BB: What is the one thing every bride needs? Watters: A Watters dress....... but
there’s nothing more beautiful on a bride than a big smile on the day of the wedding. BB: Can you give us your fav Bridal Do? Watters: Confidence and Comfort BB: And a Bridal Don’t? Watters: A badly fitted
dress, make
12542543535 sure to set time
to see an excellent tailor, trust me it makes an enormous difference. BB: What’s next for you? Watters: We are fast approach-
ing our 30th anniversary, we will continue producing fashion forward dresses and providing superior service. Our consumer is changing and we have to change with them, so we have some exciting adventures planned in the digital sector. We will also continue building our newest brand; Encore, and adding to our collaborations: Watters Accessories by Thomas Knoell and Watters Veils by Toni Federici. BB: What piece of advice would you give to brides who are trying to find “THE DRESS?” Watters: Do your research,
there’s so many options out there, and plenty of platforms to find a few dresses you love, do not settle. BB: In terms of beauty looks, do you have dos and don’ts? Watters: Keep it simple, remem-
ber you will look at your photos 10 years from now, make sure you look like yourself and not some beauty school experiment.
BB: Finally, tell us a style secret that can make a wedding look magic. (We promise we won’t tell.) Watters: Please wear proper
undergarments, find the correct shade of color and proper support. And more importantly always remember to smile.

THE PERFECT WAY TO TREAT YOUR PARTY GUYS
Taking the plunge into marriage is a big step. Fortunately your have your best friends with you the whole way through. So of course you’ll wanna show them a good time as well. They may be planning your bachelor party, but you can also treat them to a guys night of your own. The best way is a classic: Poker night. Who doesn’t love a good game of poker? It gives everyone a chance to laugh, joke around and be themselves, not to mention a chance to win (or lose) a little money too. Add some drinks and food and that’s really all guys need to have a good time. Another point is that this gives you the opportunity to show off a little class by giving each member of your groom party their own monogrammed poker chip. It’s a classy, nice touch that will impress your friends. A great way of saying, “Thank-you,” to each of them. Good food, good drinks, good game and good friends. That is what it’s all about.

Just when Chloe’s career starts to take off, Bennett wishes it would all slow down long enough to spend a wild night alone with his girlfriend. But after he refuses to take no for an answer, Chloe and Bennett find themselves with two plane tickets, one French Villa, and a surprising conversation that, predictably, leaves them wrestling under the covers.
The whole city knows that Max Stella loves women, not that he’s ever found one he particularly wants to keep around. Despite pulling in plenty with his Wall Street bad boy charm, it’s not until Sara—and the wild photos she lets him take of her—that he starts wondering if there’s someone for him outside of the bedroom. Hooking up in places where anybody could catch them, the only thing scarier for Sara than getting caught in public is having Max get too close in private.
Chloe Mills is intelligent, hardworking, moments away from her MBA and starting a successful career. The only thing standing in her way is her boss, Bennett Ryan. He’s exacting, blunt, inconsiderate and... completely gorgeous - a beautiful bastard. She’s determined to ignore him, do the best job she can, and move on to her bright future. Bennett has been trying to ignore his gorgeous, infuriating assistant for months. He’s never been one for a workplace dalliance, especially not with one of his employees. But Chloe is so tempting he’s willing to bend the rules - or smash them, if it means he can have her… all over the office. What starts as just a hot hate hook-up becomes something much deeper, as both Chloe and Bennett must confront exactly what they’re willing to lose to find love with each other.
Title: Beautiful Bombshell (Beautiful Bastard 2.5) Author: Christina Lauren
Publication Sept 3rd 2013 Publisher: Gallery Books Buy The Book: Amazon / itunes
Little known fact to all of you lovely brides to be out there, I am a bookaholic! I have read almost 400 books in the last year and as my letter to the editor states I am a sucker for romance. I love for my books to be a little hot, and to have a happy ending. Meg the Creative Director here at Bridal Beauty and I created our own version of a book club being just the two of us, you see Meg is one of my best friends and we are alike in a lot of ways. So when I read something good I have to share it with her and vice versa!
When Max, Henry, and Will steal Bennett away for a weekend of shenanigans and strippers in Vegas, the first stop of the night doesn’t go at all as planned. With their scheme for a Guys Weekend completely derailed anyway, Max and Bennett begin to play a wild game of stealth and secrecy in order to have their bombshells all over Sin City.
Title: Beautiful Beginning (Beautiful Bastard 3.5) Author: Christina Lauren Publication Nov 19th 2013 Publisher: Gallery Books Buy The Book: Amazon / itunes Back when not being able to stand each other also meant not being able to keep their hands of each other in Beautiful Bastard, neither Bennett nor Chloe could have seen this day coming. Title: Beautiful Player (Beautiful Bastard 3) Author: Christina Lauren Publication Oct 29th 2013 Publisher: Gallery Books Buy The Book: Amazon / itunes When Hanna “Ziggy” Bergstrom moves to New York City for graduate school, Will Sumner thinks his responsibilities to his best friend’s nerdy little sister will be limited to the occasional dinner and check-in. Little does he know that Ziggy is ready to break out of her bookworm academic shell and move more into bombshell territory. Of course she figures the gorgeous womanizing venture capitalist Will is the best person to help mentor her in this new field of study: dating. Will takes on the challenge with more than a healthy dose of skepticism and humor, but soon finds that Ziggy just needed a tiny push, not a world of change, to reveal a woman every man seems to notice. Soon “Ziggy” is gone and the unfiltered, innocently seductive Hanna Bergstrom is hijacking his dreams, his moods, and even his orderly no-stringsattached dating life—beginning the night his mentoring activities move between the sheets.
An exasperated bride who just wants to elope. A determined groom whose only focus is getting to the wedding night. And—of course—a whole lot of name calling.
Lauren (on the left) and Christina (on the right) have been writing all kinds of stories together since 2009. This is not the first erotic romance they’ve ever written . . . but it is the first one under this name. Separated by the pesky state of Nevada, these co-author besties talk several times a day, agree that Ruby Pumps is the best nail polish color ever, and would, if given the choice, spend all day staring at the ocean from the San Clemente pier. You can find them online at www.christinalaurenbooks.com or @seeCwrite & @lolashoes.
As someone who planned a very stressful wedding I loved to shut the door to my bedroom curl up in bed all by myself with a nice glass of wine and loose myself in a good book. It would center me and calm me after a crazy day of wedding planning on top of my already crazy life. So I hope that you can do the same. Take a book and lose yourself even if it just for a little while you never know what kind of amazing world you will find yourself in. Speaking of amazing worlds Christina Lauren created an amazing world of advertising in their Beautiful Series. It is one of my must reads right now. I will give you a heads up these titles defiantly fall into the contemporary erotic romance category. The started out as a play off the 50 Shades of Grey series, but in my opinion they blow them away.
“The perfect blend of sex, sass and heart, Beautiful Bastard is a steamy battle of wills that will get your blood pumping!” - S.C. Stephens, bestselling author of Thoughtless The unique dramatic relationship between Chloe and Bennett is almost magical as you see two people fight with everything they have not to be together. Name calling and unexpected sex are defiantly on the menu for these books. I can honestly say I don’t remember the last time I cried so hard from laughing. These books will make you laugh will may you cry and will make you want to not put them down. I highly recommend the whole series and I can’t wait till Oct 29th when Beautiful Player gets realeased!! P.S. We are starting a weekly book club on the website too so check it out!!

MONTHS
Lengthen Your Locks The Natural Way
You’ve found the gown and it’s the perfect neckline, and of course you’ve decided you want your hair down in lush waves. Time to grow out your long locks for the big day. Start with a sound diet (extra protein) and a follicle booster (try Nioxin Diamax).
Bridal Boot Camp Time If your goal is to lose the extra pounds, or define your arms for that strapless gown (or both), you will want to figure out a well-rounded fitness plan. Make a routine, a mix of strength training, cardio, and stretching. Yes - stretching. It boosts your balance and flexibility, and creates leaner muscles. Contact a trainer and sign up for a gym membership or work your fitness plan at home!
begin a regimen now. To improve your complexion, consider monthly facials and treatments like fruit-acid peels, which refresh skin’s outer layer. Microdermabrasion, a form of exfoliation that uses tiny crystals, is better for sensitive skin. Prices for both range from $100 to $200 per session.
Say Cheese Consult with a cosmetic dentist with as much lead time as possible if you have any chips or crooked teeth you want fixed. Straighter teeth can be achieved several ways, the time frame ranging from two weeks up to two years. A bride’s treatment plan depends on a variety of factorshow straight the teeth currently are, if there are any spaces, etc. So the minute that rock lands on your finger, your dentist should be the first call you make (well, after you tell your parents and friends, of course).
Purge and Splurge!
Top it off
Start experimenting with your hair after you select your gown and a good three months before the event. When doing a consultation with a stylist (if you’re having your hair done at a salon), take any hair accessories you may consider wearing on the day of, your veil if you’re wearing one, and always, always bring pictures that will inspire the look you want to achieve. You don’t want something that is not you. You want something that will make you feel like yourself and will look great in pictures.
Bring on the sweat! Pilates and yoga are great for spot toning, but make extra sure to hit the running track or elliptical too to burn extra calories and get rid of the muffin top. Do intervals, speed up and slow down, run and walk.
Note: Keep your hair in perfect shape by moisturizing your lovely locks. For extra care, try a deep moisture treatment, like Total Keratin Obsession Deep Conditioning Treatment (andreawalkerhair.com)
Grab a big bag and toss out all those half-used and never-used jars, bottles, and MONTHS tubes of products in your drawers. Then go Polish Up splurge and stock up on a set of approved Sticking to that perfect skin care staples: cleanser, daytime moisturizer, routine you invested in the earlier night time anti-age moisturizer, and eye months? Become A Pro You have a year of fun social parties ahead of you. Why not learn to apply your makeup like a pro? Take a one-on-one lesson with a local makeup artist. Between your engagement party, showers, and bachelorette bash, you will be in front of a camera just as much as a hottest new celeb with the paparazzi!

(you wouldn’t want a droopy eyelid in your wedding pics). And remember it doesn’t work overnight. It takes between three days and up to two weeks for it to kick in. If you do bruise easily, allow at least six weeks to make sure everything has settled down and your muscles have had time to respond to the treatment. You want to look natural and show your true emotions on the big day!
prevent damage. Note: If you don’t want a little 1st anniversary surprise, now is the time to visit your OBGYN to get on a good birth control pill or find a good preventative alternative for you!
Note: Stay stress-free by planning a date with your hubby-to-be. No doubt at this point he’s ready to ditch the wedding and elope! He just wants you to remember that out of all the women in the world he chose you! Plan some romantic time with your lover- no wedding talk.

Note: Amp up your grin! Chances are you’ll want a brighter smile on your big day (hello, cameras!). You can go for an in-office treatment or choose an over-the-counter at home treatment.

MONTH Trim it!
Less than an inch won’t kill that perfect down-do! Part company with those fried, split ends and we promise you’ll feel better. Your hair will look fresh and healthy as you walk down the aisle.
Go for a glow You will most likely want a beautiful glow on your wedding day and for your honeymoon. If you want to start building a base tan at home with sunless tanners, now is the time to start. If you choose to go with an airbrush tan you’ll want to go for a trial run to assure you aren’t looking like a worker from Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory! Skip the airbrush tanning machines that cause streaks and invest in an airbrush tanning professional (averaging $30-$65)
WEEKS
Flawless Bride
Don’t panic right before the wedding and decide to get an overly aggressive cosmetic procedure! Your skin could have a reaction to any new treatments (think red, blotchy, broken out- not pretty). Do any treatments at least two weeks beforehand, though you can do a basic at-home facial mask one week before. Get an extra exfoliating treatment a month to two weeks before the big day to make skin really glow. And if the worst should happen and you wake up with a gigantic zit a day or two before your big day, swing by your dermatologist’s office for a cortisone injection to deflate it in a hurry.
Mani Time Show your hands some love! Time to pay attention to those fingers that carry a special stone on them. Everyone will want to see that sparkle on the wedding day! Supplement your usual mani/pedi by hosting a girls’ spa night with an in-home scrub, soak, and of course, Cosmos!
SLEEP! There is no other treatment like it in the world! Sleep is your BEST beauty booster!

WEEK
Shape it, Arch It
Brows have more longevity than you think (a perfect shape will typically last for a week), so you don’t need to have them done right before your big day. Go to a salon or spa you trust (or comes highly recommended from someone whose brows you like) to have your brows groomed five to seven days before the wedding so you won’t have any residual redness or irritation.
Get Rid of the bush! Most prefer laser hair removal and you can start that six months before the big day and do it monthly. This way, by your wedding day you’ll no longer have to shave, which will definitely come in handy on the honeymoon. If laser isn’t in your budget or if you prefer waxing, you can wax up until a week before, though this depends on how fast your hair grows and how thick it is. Don’t get a wax right before or it will be red and irritated. That wouldn’t make for a very fun wedding night.
Fake A Glow We love spray tans! They’re great at giving a beautiful glow and an even tone, minus the sun damage. If this is the bride’s first time, you definitely want to go at least two times prior to the wedding to test it out. You want to make sure it doesn’t turn out orange or streaky, and see how the color develops and fades. Then, if you’re satisfied with the results, you definitely want to get a spray tan at least three days before the wedding so you ensure the coloring doesn’t come off on clothes, towels, sheets, etc. For the face, test an at-home face selftanner (skip the spray, which may come out too dark) a month before the wedding, and if it works then reapply the day before. Try Lancome Flash Bronzer Oil-Free Tinted SelfTanning Face Lotion, $30.
Note: Run a bath filled to the brim with
Pamper Your Hair Get a straightening or relaxing treatment. Straightening treatments/relaxer should be done a week or two before the wedding. That way the treatment can settle into your hair and appear more natural. If you also need to have color done, have your hair straightened/relaxed first, wait a couple of weeks and then do color, in order to
over color, a week before is plenty of time. You want your hair to be freshly colored, yet leave enough time to fix any mistakes.
Note: When it comes to hair color, if you’re getting highlights, I would recommend getting them a week and a half before your big day. They tend to be a bit more difficult to get perfect. But, if it’s all-
hot water and pour in your favorite bath oil with lavender. Soak and bask in the amazing feeling that soon you will be a Mrs., and close your eyes and picture walking down the aisle and how beautiful you will look on your big day! Picture the look on your groom as he sees the most beautiful woman, his woman, saying “I do”.
