ENROLLMENT & TUITION DEPOSIT

accepting our offer of admission • In order to accept our offer of admission to secure your place in the Fall 2016 entering class, you will need to submit a $250 enrollment deposit. • The deposit is only refundable up until May 1, 2016, and will be applied to your tuition for the fall semester. • After May 1st, places cannot be guaranteed and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, as spaces remain available in the class. • If you are completing high school this year, you will need to confirm your graduation by submitting an official, final transcript forwarded to the Office of Admissions over the summer.

To secure your place with the incoming class, complete and return this form in the envelope provided.


FINANCIAL AID

filing for financial aid • Financial Aid packages including need-based aid will begin being issued in late November.

• You will be receiving information from our Financial Aid office approximately two weeks from receiving this acceptance packet. Once your FAFSA is received, your package will include any need-based institutional, federal and state awards, grants and loans. • All applicants are encouraged to file the FAFSA and should do so as soon as possible by going online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

The priority deadline for filing the FAFSA form is March 1.

HOUSING

housing survey & deposit • If you are interested in living in on-campus housing, you will need to submit a $275 housing deposit and a completed housing questionnaire to the Office of Admissions. • Housing will be secured on a first-come, first-served basis, as spaces remain available, and cannot be guaranteed for deposits received after May 1st. • The date for new students to move into housing is Saturday, August 26th. • The Campus Life Office will begin making housing assignments and issuing housing contracts in July. Information regarding what to bring will be issued with this information. • For housing specific questions, please contact our Campus Life Office at ext. 1135 or housing@montserrat.edu


Completing this form is extremely helpful for both you and for Campus Life staff in determining your housing placement.



REGISTRATION

fall semester classes will begin on wednesday, august 30th. • Over the summer, you will be sent a survey form to select your Lens, Technology & Time studio elective. Once you complete and return this form, your class schedule will be created and sent to you. • You will be assigned your academic advisor at the point of registration. Your academic advisor will be a member of the faculty who will be a resource for you regarding courses, scheduling, and other academic concerns. • Prior to the start of classes, and as required by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, all students must submit proof of immunization. • If you will be seeking AP or IB credits, please be sure to submit your official test scores to the Office of Admissions. • If you are a transfer student seeking additional transfer credit for coursework in progress at the time of your admission, please submit updated and official transcripts to the Office of Admissions prior to registration. You may also need to submit an updated portfolio if your new transcripts include advanced level studio coursework.

SUPPORT SERVICES •

If you have a documented learning or physical difference and would like to secure any of the support services that are available at Montserrat, please submit a copy of your official assessment and documentation records to the Center for Academic Solutions.

It is recommended that you begin this process prior to submitting an enrollment deposit and well in advance of registration and the start of classes.

• Upon receipt of this documentation, the Disabilities Coordinator will contact you to discuss support options.

BILLING

NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION

• The start of new student orientation is Saturday, August 26th. All new students are required to attend this program.

Bills for Fall 2017 tuition and fees will begin being issued in June and payment arrangements must be completed by July 15th.

• Information on options to cover your balance, including payment plans, will be sent with student billing statements. •

Over the summer, you will receive a link to the New Student Website, which will have information on orientation in addition forms needed for enrollment to the college.

TECHNOLOGY •

While Montserrat College of Art does not require students to have computers, we do recommend that students come to campus with one of the laptops listed on our website. Laptops enable anytime, anywhere learning. The computer labs at Montserrat are also available for all students to complete coursework and assignments.

Your Montserrat email address and additional service accounts are created in the end of June. Students that deposit after June 15 will have accounts within 2 weeks of deposit. You will receive communication regarding activation via your personal email account on file; please make sure that email address is current and valid.
