The Italian Job In Concert

Film with Live Orchestra Tuesday 19 February 7.30pm Film certificate PG The Italian Job (1969), one of the most iconic British films, will return to the big screen for a very special performance with a big band and orchestra playing the score live to picture. American-born pianist Stephen Kovacevich moved to Britain to study with Dame Myra Hess and has since graced concert platforms across the world for over 50 years. He made his name with critically acclaimed recordings of Beethoven and Schubert with a special fascination for their late works. His recital presents two of the finest. Beethoven’s Op.110 is fluently expressive, yet also intellectually compact, while Schubert’s last Sonata in B-flat is grandly expansive and lyrical, as well as searchingly profound.
