Water A well-planned pipe system of more than 40 kilometers (about 25 miles), distributes water to storage tanks and water troughs strategically placed throughout the ranch. Shorter distances to water allow greater utilization of the ranch for livestock and enhances the wildlife population. Water for all the ranch is produced from the Sukue Spring and two wells. One well is on a solar powered submersible and one is powered by generator. The spring and solar powered well are both capable of producing water 24/7.

There are two, high fenced game preserves, one encompassing about 55 hectares (about 135 acres) and the other about 300 hectares (about 740 acres). Some of the high fence wire was imported from New Zealand and some of it manufactured in Mexico.

History

Surrounded by spectacular mountain landscapes, Múzquiz, or Melchor Múzquiz, the official name, is a beautiful city located 340 kilometers (about 211 miles) north of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon. It is one of 38 municipalities of Coahuila, in north-eastern Mexico. The area is especially known for its good ranches.

When the Spaniards arrived in the region, they found the natives to be peaceful and prosperous. The Spanish colonized the state between 1550 and 1580, naming it New Extremadura after a region in Spain. They later changed the name to Coahuila. Coahuila has a reputation as a center for wealthy ranches, wine making and commerce. The first wine produced on the American continent was made in Parras in the southern part of the state and the area is still known for its wine production. The town of Piedras Negras is where Chef Ignacio Nacho Anaya served the first-ever plate of nachos in 1943.
