About the artist
She studied graphic design at university and worked in the industry for over ten years, before she found her passion in illustrating. She loves animals and people watching and discovering the uncanny behavioral similarities between the two. Animals, nature and travelling are a constant inspiration in her work. She has worked on a variety of commissions with clients from around the world, including Quarto (Ivy Press), Gardening Australia, Berbay Books, HarperCollins, Museums Victoria and Country Living UK.
About the artist
Antonia is a designer and illustrator based in The Netherlands. She graduated High School of Fine Arts and National Academy of Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria where she specialised in Poster Design. Moving to the Netherlands after years in advertising, she rediscovered her passion for sketching and watercolour, designing greeting cards was the next logical step. When she is not in front of the computer, she makes watercolour sketches in her garden or draws away in her countless sketchbooks. Florals, birds, animals, insects and people are her favourite subjects. Antonia is very prolific and loves experimenting and trying new ideas which makes her work very versatile. She likes collecting vintage and antique items and is fascinated by impressionist art.

Åsa Gilland is a Swedish illustrator living in Jakarta, Indonesia with her family and cats in a little house beneath a gigantic bougainvillea tree. She studied interior design at Accademia Italiana Moda in Florence and spent many years as a graphic designer before pursuing her love for illustration and picture books. She works in a combination of traditional and digital media, drawing her inspiration from the mixture of cultures in the world around her. Her characterful illustrations reflect the rich diversity of her own lived experience. She loves history, patterns and drawing people.

After spending most of her career in Graphic Design and Art Direction she transitioned to pursue her true passion of illustration. Ashley loves projects that challenge and push her skills further. She loves to use bright, bold color palettes and play with rich textures.

Becca Hall is an illustrator, originally from The Lake District, now following her lifelong dream of living in Cornwall.She especially enjoys working with a range of media and materials to bring charm and warmth to her illustrations. Becca graduated from the Manchester School of Art in 2014 with a first class honours degree, where she also won the Alumni Award for illustration.Since graduating, she has been continuously working as a freelance illustrator, designing her own ever expanding range of giftware, and collaborating with a broad range of clients, including books for international publishers, maps for Lake District National Park, and multiple ranges of best selling Christmas Hampers for Lakeland.

Cécile Metzger is a French illustrator based in Madrid, Spain. Known for her delicate and whimsical style, Cécile’s work spans a variety of mediums, including watercolour, gouache, pencils, and digital tools, allowing her to adapt her talents to diverse projects and creative challenges. Inspired by the beauty of nature, her favourite subjects include animals, flowers, and dreamy landscapes. Over the years, she has collaborated with notable clients such as Anthropologie, Compendium, Papyrus, Larousse, Weiss, and Domestika. When not at her desk painting flowers and sipping tea, Cécile enjoys wandering through the forest or getting lost in the pages of one of her favourite novels.

Claire Lefevre graduated from Portsmouth University in 2007 with a degree in Illustration and she’s been working in creative roles ever since.
Her fun, slightly tongue-in-cheek designs are inspired by life, fuelled by a good-natured sarcasm, and bursting with colour and humour. She drinks tea like it’s going out of fashion, and loves cake (but she’s really trying to eat less of that these days).
Claire lives and work in the Eden Valley in beautiful Cumbria, UK, with her husband, two boys, three dogs and twenty chickens (at the last count!).

Claudine Rose was born and raised in Luton, UK, once famous for a flourishing hat-making trade.Heavily influenced by her mother, who worked as a milliner and embroiderer, Claudine knew from an early age that she wanted to live a creative life.With a degree in Textile Design and Surface Decoration, her love of textiles is expressed through her work today where fabric and stitch details often feature. Over 20 years experience in the greetings card industry has given her the skills to create many varied styles demonstrating a diverse portfolio. During this time Claudine has continuously designed a well-known best selling handmade card range, which has won the prestigious Henries Award on numerous occasions.

Since graduating from Glasgow School of Art Fiona is lucky enough to have always earned her living from drawing.
A perfect project for Fiona would combine her love of storytelling, pattern, character design and hand drawn typography. Fiona works in her London based studio, drawing with children’s blo pens, rubber stamps, cutting stencils and experimenting with printing techniques. She finds this playful approach and embracing collaboration brings about fresh and fun ways to visualise ideas.

Jane’s clients include Anthropologie, Times Square Hong Kong, Vogue, The Art Group and Templar Publishing. Jane employs both traditional and digital techniques in her work and admits to having a bit of an obsession with detail!

Jenny Miriam is a British illustrator and surface designer, happily based in the scenic South West of England. Her love for art and design has always been at the heart of everything she does. After earning a BA (Hons) in Graphic & Packaging Design from Somerset College of Arts and Technology, she went on to complete an MA in Multimedia at Bath Spa University. Over the years, Jenny honed her skills as both an in-house and freelance designer and illustrator, collaborating with various creative agencies and bringing countless ideas to life. Nowadays, Jenny focuses solely on her illustration work from the comfort of her home in Bristol, where she shares her life with her three children, their dad, and a mischievous cat named Coco.

Jess is a freelance illustrator and artist currently living in Bath, UK. She uses gouache and digital methods to create her fun and playful work. She enjoys working conceptually, so scale and perspective play a large part within the images she creates. Jess’ clients include Kate Spade, Oxfam and Hardie Grant.

Joy Laforme is an illustrator and artist living in New Jersey. She attended the Savannah College of Art and Design where she obtained her Master of Arts in Graphic & Interactive Design. She went on to illustrate for a broad range of products, including puzzles, stationery, textiles, book covers, galleries, murals, and more. Joy’s select clients include Galison, Hodder Publishing, Stripes Publishing, HGTV Magazine, Wentworth Puzzles, Barnes & Noble, Graphique De France, and Trader Joe’s. She enjoys creating in both digital and traditional techniques, many times in a mix of both. She is influenced by vintage animated films, Fauvism and American Folk Art, and incorporates these styles into her signature aesthetic.

Julie has been working as a designer for 20 years, designing for many aspects of the surface pattern market, from stationery to fabrics, wall covering and tableware to kitchen and bathroom surfaces. Loving her work and creating new designs, Julie’s passions are drawing, pattern and colour and this is reflected in the images she produces. Using a variety of techniques, some hand drawn and some manipulated using Photoshop. She lives in Sussex, by the sea, with her husband and beautiful twin boys. Designing is everything to me next to my family.

Karen Obuhanych is a Hawaii-based illustrator inspired by her family, most notably her strong-minded daughter and beastly calico. Prior to working as an illustrator, Karen studied Fine Art with an emphasis in painting. She enjoys working with all types of paint, pencils and digital media, keeping it simple, making it cute and celebrating the funny stuff that happens in life. Karl James Mountford is an illustrator who works in both traditional and digital media. He has created artwork for such titles as ‘The Uncommoners ‘ by Jennifer Bell, published by Penguin Random House (2017), and ‘The Peculiars’ by Kieran Larwood with Chicken House publishing (2018), to name just a couple. Karl specialises in book cover design and chapter illustrations but also works on picture books, with recent titles including ‘Maurice the Unbeastly’ by Amy Dixon, published by Sterling Children’s Books (2017), and ‘The Curious Case of the Missing Mammoth’ by Ellie Hattie with Little Tiger Press (2017).
Kate McFarlane
About the artist
Kate is a British illustrator and pattern designer. She studied textile design at Manchester School of Art and has enjoyed many years designing prints for children’s clothing. Kate’s colourful designs have also been featured on craft fabric, gift wrap, and children’s toys. Clients include Dashwood Studio, Little Sleepies, Glick, George at Asda, and Tu at Sainsbury’s. Kate works digitally with painterly textures and uses bold, bright colours to bring a sense of joyful warmth to her characters and illustrations. When not in her studio, Kate loves baking, gardening, and marvelling at nature doing its magic each season while walking in the local countryside. Kate lives in Nottingham with her husband, three children, and their tabby cat called Vincent.

Kate Segal is a visual artist and illustrator based in Manhattan. Her work is known for its vibrant, bold colors and themes that explore nature, spirituality, and the human experience. Kate’s digital creations cover textile designs, puzzles, wallpaper, gift wrap, and greeting cards. Kate’s artistic journey began with childhood visits to New York City museums where she developed an early love for abstract and contemporary art. Influenced by artists such as Henri Matisse, Hilma af Klint, and David Hockney, she also drew inspiration from her grandmother, who was an illustrator in the 1960s. Kate invites her audience to connect with her art in a way that uplifts and encourages a sense of happiness and appreciation for color and form.

Kay Wolfersperger is a creative lighting bolt based out of Savannah, GA, USA. She funnels her boundless energy into her illustrations for her clients such as Editions Auzou, Scholastic UK, Sellers Publishing and Design House Greetings. Her mixed-race background provides her invaluable insight and appreciation for diverse points of view and a penchant for empathy. Kay studied at the Savannah College of Art and Design where she earned a BFA in graphic design and a BFA in Fibers. She forged her way through the design ranks working in-house and for agencies. Her work spans stationery, packaging, advertising, editorial and surface design.
Laura Watkins
About the artist
Laura Watkins is an Illustrator living in London. When Laura was young, she was often found drawing onto wallpaper reels, there just weren’t enough regular sheets of paper in her house to keep up with the demand. This practice was put to good use when Laura painted several London NHS Children’s hospital wards, filling the walls with her friendly animals. Since graduating from the University for the Creative Arts, Laura has illustrated numerous children’s books as well as working with a diverse range of licensing clients, creating best-selling lines of greetings cards, plush toys and jigsaw puzzles. Laura is the winner of the prestigious Northern Illustration Prize, with her piece ‘That Place’.
Maja Anderson
About the artist
Maja Anderson was born and raised in the U.S. to danish parents, and when she was young, she was given the danish version of “Pippi Longstocking” illustrated by Ingrid Van Nyman which have been an inspiration to her ever since. After graduating with a BFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio, Maja worked for Hallmark Cards, illustrating a variety of greeting cards, gift books and apparel. Maja’s inspiration comes from international folk art. Her hobbies include drawing on cocktail napkins, flamenco dance lessons and cats!
Mariona Cabassa
About the artist
Mariona was born in Barcelona, where she lives with her son Martín and has been working as an illustrator for more than 20 years. She studied illustration at Massana School of Art, followed by a postgraduate year in Strasbourg. She is a curious person, a tireless explorer devoted to creative life who has published almost 100 children’s books in several languages and countries. Mariona has received numerous awards for her work, both for her books published in Spain as well as abroad which site perfectly with her incredible success with different products; puzzles and games, decorative vinyls, posters, wine labels, stationery. She paints and sews large format fabrics, runs illustration workshops for women and teaches at one of the Universities of art and design in Barcelona.

Mary is an illustrator exploring color, solving problems, and creating work inspired by her travels, folklore, nature, and Taiwanese-American heritage. She has enjoyed both in-house and freelance design roles over the past 8 years, creating illustrations and patterns for home decor, stationery, textile, and gift products carried by several stores including: Target, Nordstrom, Macy’s, Whole Foods, and lovely local boutiques. Equipped with a drawing tablet and a desk constantly covered in plants and various objects for studying, gouache and watercolor paints, and a large collection of brushes and pencils, her passion is to learn and grow through making work that sparks both curiosity and inspiration in others.

Ruth Burrows studied Theatre Design at Nottingham Trent University, but her journey took a creative turn when she relocated to the vibrant city of Abu Dhabi. For two decades, Ruth worked in the exciting world of Event Design, creating experiences for large-scale festivals, celebrations and eye-popping decor for Dubai’s famous malls. Her passion for illustration blossomed while showcasing her work at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair so when the world slowed down during 2020, Ruth saw the perfect opportunity to dive full-time into her love for art and illustration. Since then, Ruth has written and illustrated numerous creative projects. These days, Ruth works from her bright, open studio in the charming market town of Sleaford, Lincolnshire.

Sanja Rescek lives in Zagreb, where she studied graphic design at the Academy of Fine Arts. She has illustrated more than a 120 books which have been published in many different languages. Some of her clients are Simon and Schuster, Random House, Scholastic and Macmillan. She has illustrated a successful Itsy Bitsy collection of books for Simon and Schuster. She also enjoys creating greeting cards, patterns and giftbags. Her artwork was featured on the UNICEF cards among others, such as American Greetings, Papyrus, Noel Tatt, Paper Rose etc. Her Hazy Days range of cards, published by Paper Rose were finalists for Henries Award 2019.

The Publishing and Printing Institute was Veronika’s home for 4 years while she was training to be a Graphic Designer & Illustrator. A big lover of nature and wild cats, Veronika travels a lot and her inspiration comes from exotic fauna and folk art.
She likes painting with gouache and acrylics, but she also works digitally and often combines both.

Victoria Ball is a British illustrator and surface designer based in the South West of England. She is passionate about colour and exploring new ways to make pictures, whether by hand using traditional methods and collage or digitally. Since graduating from Falmouth Collage of Arts back in 2002, she has produced artwork for book jackets, children’s books and TV, limited edition prints, magazines, ceramics, packaging and branding for clients based all over the world. Having worked in-house and as a freelancer from studios in London, Bath and Bristol, she is now settled at her home studio in the vibrant Somerset town of Frome, where she lives with her illustrator husband and their children.
