Cloudy2Clear Windows – Service With A Smile!

It’s been a crazy few months for Cloudy2Clear Windows. The company which specialises in repairing windows which are steamed up, broken or damaged by replacing the panes – not the frames has grown rapidly as homeowners take advantage of their services. Managing Director Aaron Smith feels that it’s all about service. ‘Our product is simple. If your double glazing is misted up we can replace the glass at a fraction of the cost of a new window, in any type of frame, and with a new 5 year guarantee. But it’s not just

about saving people money, although that obviously helps. Many tradespeople have struggled since last year and I honestly feel that during the good times a minority perhaps didn’t focus on customer care as much as they should have done. We make sure we turn up when we say we will, do the job the customer requires and leave their house as clean as a whistle. I often get comments back from customers on how they really didn’t expect that sort of service which, in a way, is very sad for the service industry as a whole.’ Cloudy2Clear service Brighton, Hove & the surrounding areas

and Aaron is finding that his approach is a major factor in his success.‘The truth is that it’s not just the personal satisfaction that I get from doing a good job but also it makes good business sense. I get a huge amount of business from friends and

family of people I’ve done work for, which just goes to show how much a little bit of effort is appreciated.’ So, if your windows are steamed up, broken or damaged give Aaron a call for a free quotation on 0800 61 21 118 and he’ll be happy to help!

Emergency services Children got the opportunity to meet members of the emergency services, in an annual event held at Mayberry Garden Centre in Portslade. Organisations which attended included the police, the fire service, the RNLI, Coast Watch, British Red Cross, Guide Dogs, and a Teddy Bear Hospital. More than 200 children attended the free event last Friday, and Darren Clift, event organiser said: “We are indebted to the great people from all of the emergency services and beyond that give up their time to take part and help create such a fantastic atmosphere.’’

Brighton Bears More than £20,000 has been raised for The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital, to purchase vital heart monitors that are desperately needed in the emergency department, by banger racing group Brighton Bears. The Bears had been given a target of £7,000 to purchase one of the urgently needed monitors. The team visited the hospital,

to present the cheque for the final amount of a staggering £20,181.38 - which is enough to purchase three monitors. The cash was raised from The Bears Big Bash charity meeting, which took place

in front of a packed crowd at Arlington Stadium, Eastbourne.

Sea Life Centre

Conservation Cove, a new interactive exhibition, was launched at the Sea Life Centre in Brighton. The displays are housed in colourful beach-huts, themed to promote sustainable fishing, marine protected areas and cleaner seas. Max Leviston, general manager at Sea Life Brighton said: “Conservation Cove includes push-button gadgets and devices to help get visitors engaged with these crucial issues.” Guest of honour at the launch was Suzannah Foulds, who suffers from a debilitating neurological disorder that makes it difficult to walk, yet she completed Brighton’s annual five-mile Walk for Whales and Dolphins three times.

Gorillas, a futuristic doughnut hotel and a “Donnie Darko” inspired rabbit, adorn the i360 hoardings, after graffiti artists transformed the site. The local artists included Aroe, Gary, Rebus, Jiroe, Vodka, Morf, Warg, Ster and Past, as well as Yes B from Essex, Rench from Reading, Nottingham’s Alert and Europeans Twesh, from Italy and Relay, from Germany. Aroe said: “I truly believe that some of the best paintings we’ve ever done have been created here today.” Eleanor Harris, chief executive at the i360, said: “I think the artwork they have produced is fantastic - really vibrant and interesting.”

Give a dog a home ¨ campaign

@BrightonIndy

www.brightonandhoveindependent.co.uk

Brighton & Hove Independent has teamed up with Dogs Trust Shoreham to help find homes for some of Brighton and Hove’s unwanted dogs. This week we feature Jumbles, the Collie cross. www.dogstrust.org.uk

Factfile: “Jumbles is a 16-month-old male Collie X. He is an interesting looking chap, he looks like a greyhound cross collie with short legs! “He is a fun boy and very bright, so he is looking for owners with time to help continue his training. “Jumbles likes the company of other dogs, but he would need to be the only dog in the home, so doggy friends would be for walk times. “He would need a home where he wouldn’t be left on his own for long periods of time, owners would need to help him get used to this by building it up gradually. “Jumbles would need a garden in his new home and it also needs to be adult only. He would love a home that’s full of fun and activity, it would be great to include this energy into his basic training. ‘‘Jumbles loves his food and tasty treats and he is also great fun to play with. He loves a soft toy to play rag with and throw about.”
