Graphite Like diamond, its properties include: •Lustrous •High melting point •Insoluble in water Also, unlike diamond, graphite is: •Black and opaque •Slippery •An electrical conductor Graphite is used inside pencils. It slips easily off the pencil onto the paper and leaves a black mark.
