EDITOR Traveling is one of the most enriching experiences that one can engage in. I spent a Summer in Florence, Italy and immediately fell in love with the city, and country as a whole. I enjoyed the time that I spent there immensely. The beautiful, lush landscape and the gorgeous, centuries old buildings are the perfect setting for a summertime exploration. In this Summertime issue of Above Italy, we will take you through some of the best cities to visit, and the most mouth-watering recipes to try. You will find a packing list of all the essentials that you would need if taking a vacation to Italy in the Summer. We will take you to the coast of Italy with our featured city, Cinque Terre, and show you all of the must-see features that the towns have to offer. Whether planning a trip through Italy, or just looking through for recipe ideas and to get a taste of the Italian culture, Above Italy should impress!

RIDE carousel

what to do in...

The Piazza della Repubblica in Florence is lined with street artists and other vendors selling various souvenirs for the travelers. The Piazza is bordered with some of the finest hotels in Florence, as well as the first cafe in Florence, Gilli. However, one of the most beautiful features that the Piazza has to offer is the amazing carousel. This carousel is beautiful both in the daytime and at night. At night the carousel lights up and sparkles. This carousel is a great way to show your children a little bit of fun amongst the museums and historical buildings in Florence. Sometimes your children might be looking for a bit of fun. Even if you are not traveling with children, the carousel is a great attraction for adults as well. You can ride it while also taking in the beautiful buildings surrounding the Piazza from a new vantage point. { above ITALY  |  11

in CINQUE TERRE

When traveling in Italy in the Summer, it is essential to take at least one beach day. One, or five, cities in particular that anyone venturing through Italy should visit is Cinque Terre. These five cities nestled in the coastline of Italy, not only host glorious beaches, but amazing hiking trails as well. Vacationers can hike from city to city within Cinque Terre and take in the beautiful views, or lounge on the beach for a lazy afternoon. The beautiful beaches are dotted with colorful umbrellas that vacationers can rent out for the afternoon to lounge in the sun and enjoy the sandy Âť
