LOCAL ARTIST STU DOHERTY WINS A BLUE RIBBON

✦ Local watercolour artist Stu Doherty took home $1000 and first place in the inaugural Bonny Hills Art Prize from over 45 entries in the category.

The art prize had 300 entries from 100 artists across the Mid North Coast, and the demand for entry was as exceptional as the quality of work submitted.

What is also amazing is the idea for the event was only conceived in August and the success of the event is due to the great work of a team of volunteers and the work of the Bonny Hills Progress Association.

The event was Judged by Bridget Purtill; the Glasshouse Regional Gallery Curator and attended by the Port Macquarie Mayor Peta Pinson.

Exhibition

An exhibition of Stu Doherty’s other watercolour paintings can be viewed at The Wauchope Creative Hub gallery; 87 Cameron Street, Wauchope, Monday to Saturday 10am to 4pm.
