TERRAIN PARKS THE PIGGY BANK This beginner-level progression park contains smaller, graduated features and terrain aimed at novice or young riders. Here you can test and build your skills before moving on into our more challenging Vault Terrain Park. Helmets are required.

THE VAULT This 5.5 acre park is geared for more experienced riders who want to up the ante and progress to more advanced features. A park pass and helmet are required to access the Vault.

Whether you’re new to the parks or a more experienced rider looking to build on existing basic skills, Brimacombe Snow School offers a variety of private and group park sessions to help you nail your next trick! Check out page 21-22 for full details.

PLUS HST

A 2016/17 Park Pass and valid Membership or lift ticket are required to access Brimacombe’s advanced terrain park – the Vault. Park Passes are available to anyone 8 years of age or older and are valid for the entire season in which they are purchased. Register for your Park Pass in advance at brimacombe.ca/parkpass by completing a short online training program and quiz, or complete the program in person at Brimacombe’s Main Office in the East Chalet. Please Note: All riders under 18 years of age will require a parent/guardian signature on the Park Pass waiver. A Park Pass is not required for the Piggy Bank Terrain Park. Helmets are mandatory in both terrain parks.

BRIMACOMBE RACING JUNIOR RACE PROGRAM

FRIDAY NIGHT ADULT RACE TRAINING

Skiers, Ages 7 - 20. Must be able to parallel ski & ride lifts independently.

In this junior race ski development program, racers will receive weekly training by certified coaches, and participate in Alpine Ontario sanctioned races. BRIMACOMBE VOLUNTEER SKI PATROL Ages 18+. Advanced Skiers/Snowboarders. Must pass required courses/training. Courses start September 6, 2016.

Join our certified race coaches on the slopes for two hours every Friday night for skills, drills and the opportunity to apply those lessons in a gate/race course environment. CANADIAN ASSOCIATION FOR DISABLED SKIING (CADS) DURHAM Every Sunday starting the second weekend of January.

Join our team of volunteer winter patrollers. Optional summer opportunities available too. PLUS, potentially enhance your career opportunities with fire, police, EMS, medical and related fields.

This eight week program allows skiers with disabilities to learn to ski with confidence. New instructors and volunteers always welcome. Training will be offered.

KIDS’ 8-WEEK GROUP PROGRAMS OPEN TO SKIERS & SNOWBOARDERS AGES 5 – 12, ALL ABILITY LEVELS, STUDENTS WILL BE GROUPED ACCORDING TO AGE AND ABILITY LEVEL This popular 8-week program delivers 1.5 hours of instruction each week from one of Brimacombe’s certified instructors. Students will receive a progress evaluation at the end of the program. For children under the minimum ages, we recommend Parent & Tot or private lessons. Parents of 5-, 6- and 7-year-olds, if you are a competent skier, we do appreciate your assistance with lift access for our smaller children. INSTRUCTOR APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM 8.25 HOURS PER WEEK, 9 WEEKS INCLUDES (PRE-SEASON ON HILL TRAINING DATES) UP TO 2 1/2 HOURS PER WEEK OF ON-HILL CLASS TRAINING AND 36 VOLUNTEER HOURS, PLUS A BONUS OF ADDITIONAL VOLUNTEER HOURS IF 100% ATTENDANCE IS ACHIEVED, INCLUDING THE PRE-SEASON ORIENTATION, CLASSROOM TRAINING AND ON-HILL TRAINING SESSION. Designed for those interested in becoming instructors in the near future, this program prepares apprentices with valuable training and experience working alongside certified professionals. Each day includes on-hill training with Brimacombe’s pros followed by hands-on experience as a volunteer counsellor at the Pee Wee Ski Camp and/or assistant at Brimacombe Snow School. In addition to practical experience, apprentices receive valuable on-snow and indoor training that helps prepare them for the Level 1 Instructor Certification Course offered separately through either the Canadian Ski Instructor Association (CSIA) or the Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors (CASI). All volunteers will be interviewed for potential employment with Brimacombe Snow School once Level 1 certification is achieved. Please note: Apprentices are required to attend a pre-season orientation and in-classroom training session on December 10 or December 11, 2016, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM to confirm program expectations and schedule, attendance and program’s daily schedule and the first in-class room teaching session. On-hill training will be scheduled for Saturday January 7, 2017 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM or Sunday January 8, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Volunteer hours can be credited towards High School Community Service hours. Apprentices are eligible to receive up to 100% back in the form of a Brimacombe gift card on the cost of the program depending on the number of volunteer hours completed. This will be processed at the end of the season once all volunteer hours are calculated.
