Spectacular Closing Weekend!

This September defy gravity and climb sky-high as we send out Brisbane Festival in the company of the stars. Six artist collectives take to the sky to take over six iconic rooftops for the penultimate party.

Caught between solid earth and the stars, you are invited into six universes filled with music, art, misfits and mayhem as Brisbane's most vibrant artists carve out ethereal spaces, each as unique and bespoke as the next. Each ticket will include a 3-hour extravaganza of artist immersion and bespoke food and beverage* offerings.

Raise the Roof was conceived and curated by Artistic Director, Louise Bezzina, with Creative Direction by Dan Evans.

Michael Zavros, Patience Hodgson, The Good Room, Briefs Factory International, Point Productions and Counterpilot will summon their own utopia for one night only. Loud and outlandish, powerful and poetic, decadent and glittery, there is something for everyone. Curated around a single colour palette, the only way in is to follow your roof's theme as you are the missing piece in the rooftop revelry.

POWER MOVES: AN 80S EXTRAVAGANZA

BY THE GOOD ROOM AT IRIS ROOFTOP, HOTEL X Dress in Purple Rain Dynasty Realness and catch the elevator to a sky-high paradise filled with wet-look mermaids, oil-lacquered bodybuilders, Flashdance femme fatales, fake tattoo parlours, secret rooms and not-so-secret power moves.

DIONYSUS REDUX

BY MICHAEL ZAVROS AT LINA ROOFTOP Acclaimed visual artist Michael Zavros transforms LINA’s lush rooftop into a hedonistic acropolis, caught somewhere between Ancient Athens and contemporary Mykonos. Join the Cult of Dionysus and worship the god of winemaking, fertility, insanity, ritual madness and theatre.

TROPICAL TRASH DISCO

BY BRIEFS FACTORY INTERNATIONAL AT FIUME ROOFTOP BAR Inspired by Studio 54, this is an evening of decadence, drag, culinary delights and cocktails, complete with audacious performance antics and a wicked dance floor.

C’EST BON SALON

BY COUNTERPILOT AT C’EST BON BAR AND RESTAURANT Step into the Salon, an intimate gathering of thinkers, dancers and deft romancers. A hot new twist on the vintage tradition taking over four floors of an iconic French bar and restaurant with fine wines, fine company and fine art. Need we say more?

UTOPIA

BY POINT PRODUCTIONS AT THE GROVE ROOFTOP UTOPIA is a fantastical escape for the mind, body and soul, enriched with a sound offering by the country's most enchanting musical acts including Jesswar, Milan Ring, Olivia Escuyos, TALI, Tiana Khasi, sound selections by Hannah Bronte and many more to be announced.

LOVERPALOOZA

BY PATIENCE HODGSON AT THE TERRACE, EMPORIUM HOTEL Chart-topping musician Patience Hodgson (former front woman of The Grates) pulls out her Super Secret Diary and invites some of her closest musical mates sky-high for a ritzy party that promises to be as big on heart as it is on glitter.

CLOSING NIGHT
