Anton Jaspard Mandy has recently graduated from The Bristol School of Animation. Focusing on digital 2D, Anton has worked primarily with Flash and After Effects. His strengths lie in visualizing a series of images to effectively describe a narrative through layout, storyboarding and editing. His main interests lie in character animation and music videos

Crazy Old Bill Crazy Old Bill was my final major project at university. It touches on themes such as police brutality and the war on drugs in a light hearted but brutal series of events at an illegal rave. It accompanies Cats and Dogs, a song produced by Marvin Blue and represents my preferred style of design and showcases the regular content of my work. Music visuals are an area I would like to develop further and am looking forward to getting started on another song.

Devolution Is a one-‐minute long, group project; it’s a comic take on evolution with a message about humanity. The animation was split evenly between Myself, Lauren Fitzpatrick and Jemmuel Gad. I wrote the script but we each contributed to the layout and narrative of our individual slots in the film. It was a successful collaboration, which I really enjoyed.

Will It Ever End Will It Ever End is a 90 second group project, written and directed by myself. It is about a man who has hick upped for 25 years; eventually he attempts to take his life. It’s a slapstick comedy about his failure to do so. It was the first group project I have worked on and opened my mind as to what was possible in animation. I discovered rotor scoping and am excited about its possibilities.

Work Experience Plug in Media I spent a week at Plug in Media, a digital media production company in Brighton. It was a great insight into the industry; I sat in on project development meetings and learnt what else was necessary in bringing a concept through to an interactive game. I got an idea of the guidelines you have to work under in a professional environment. I animated pepper pig for a game they were developing and I enjoyed taking references from the show to recreate the movement.

n order to create an atmosphere that is fully immersive for an audience, it i ssential that every aspect of the marketing strategy reflect that of the natur he event. Compass was lucky enough to have Anton volunteer his skills and Compass Presents s part of this collaborative process.

nton used his incredible artistic talent, good time management skills and nthusiastic nature to co-deliver our graffiti mural in Stokes Croft. We came nton with a minute timescale and very specific and demanding needs, whic

Compass Presents is a multi-‐arts organization that aims to bridge the gap between various artistic disciplines and bring together artist in new and exciting ways. I was lucky enough to get given the opportunity of curating and painting a mural on stokes croft to promote The Caligari Experience, a theatrical show including live score, projection mapping and circus performance thus creating an immersive event. It blended different art forms and inspired me to consider my art form in context to events and décor. I am fortunate to be working along side Compass Presents over the summer, where I will get a chance to meet other artist and visual designers who work along side musicians to enhance the experience as a whole. Having done a music video for my final project I feel excited, interested and confident that this is a direction I want to take my work.
