EXITBOOK
RICCARDO RIGUZZI Story Artist & Director
About me Hello,
my name is Riccardo, nice to meet you! What are you holding in your hands is a
little
book that shows what I have done since I moved
from Italy to England, three years ago, in order to study
Animation. On the following pages you will find a selection
work experiences and the university projects I was (or still I am) of the
involved with and also some other, more personal, information like my
skills or my interests.
What you can read here, now, is what I am looking forward to achieve in I want to
my future.
tell stories
using my drawings and
imagination. I am a story artist and I want to draw
storyboards,
ideas for stories and, probably in a little bit more distant future, become a director. have
As you probably will notice, there is not a great collection of pictures from my projects (you can see more of them following the links written under the projects titles), but, on the other hand, I hope you will find the short
story I created on this exit book pages entertaining. Unfortunately the space for the presentation is
finished, so I let you move to my other pages.

The client request was to create five short animated 2D films. I have developed the stories and the characters design. I also storyboarded the first short film and composed it in After Effects. The animation was done by a colleague of mine, also studying at UWE.

Concerto is my final year graduation project. It is a 2D digital cut out and Flash animated comic short film written, storyboarded and directed by me. The story, in a nutshell, is about love, passion, fame and nasty body noises.
The Saint

First project I had the chance to pitch and to direct with a team of my course mates. The story has been developed by me, basing it on an Italian folkloristic tale, as well as the very first storyboard and the first characters concepts. I composed the whole film in After Effects (working with the 3D layers for the “explosion of trees sequence) and animated the 2D cut out style opening. Film: http://vimeo.com/18688439
