Case Studies BSC London & Docetis Bespoke Teacher Training In January 2016, BSC London teamed up with Docetis International to provide training for South Korean Primary and Secondary school teachers. This exciting project, funded by the South Korean Ministry of Education Science and Technology (MEST), provides selected participants with training sessions before and after their stay in the UK. Whilst here, they receive methodology training sessions at British Study Centres in London before completing eight weeks practicum in a primary or secondary school, specially selected by Docetis International.

The most significant thing for me was differentiation. I always gave the same script to my students. I realise now I can give them differentiated instructions – this is the most important implication of this course for me Cho Rong from South Korea BSC London & Docetis Bespoke Teacher Training

Cambridge English Online CELTA in Hong Kong BSC ran the Cambridge Online Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) course in partnership with Monkey Tree English Learning Center from October 2017 to January 2018. Monkey Tree English Learning Center was established in Hong Kong in 2009. There are currently over 48 different locations spread across Hong Kong. Since its inception, it has grown to become the largest supplementary English provider for children between the ages 3-12. Their goal is to infuse a Westernized environment into their different locations to give children an opportunity to not only learn English the native way, but also to develop intellectually, socially, physically, and emotionally. The 12 teachers on the course benefited from the blended learning delivery model which combines collaborative online study with face-to-face teaching practice as they were either teaching full-time or working in full-time management roles. The course was designed and run online from the UK and two BSC accredited tutors spent a total of 4 weeks in Hong Kong for the face-to-face components of the course; assisting with lesson planning, observing teaching practice, evaluation and feedback.

Thank you so much for providing us this enriching experience. We are incredibly grateful to have had you both for our tutors. The support and guidance you have provided us are greatly appreciated. We came out of this program feeling more confident and capable as teachers and we credit this to the both of you. Christine Studied Cambridge English Online CELTA in Hong Kong
