This fully immersive Coding course delivered in English will get you to interact with and learn about the fundamentals of computer science and robotics, preparing you for a digital future. With technology playing such a huge role in today’s society BSC and Robotical have combined two of the most important languages for the future – English and computer programming.

Building Marty the Robot Get to know Marty through a build where you will be introduced to the different parts that make up a walking, programmable robot
Introduction to Robotics What are robots? How are they used in society and why? Discussion and activities to uncover some real-world problems surrounding robotics
Introduction to Programming We will cover some of the different programming concepts and best practices for programming a robot
Design your Own Robot Part Using CAD software, we will design our own robot part specifically for Marty
Hackathon In groups you will have a full day to design and program a solution so that Marty can navigate and solve a maze by considering where sensors should be placed and how Marty will decide which route to take Hackathon: Judging With a keynote from the founder of Robotical followed by judging of teams maze solving solutions
Trip to Robotarium/Museum Afternoon trip to experience different robots first-hand, find out what they are used for and look at how the field of computing has developed
Games Programming with Python Introduction to the programming language, Python, that we will be using to explore creating and programming small games
Project Work Either individually or in a small group, you will begin to design your own Marty game by planning out the different elements of the game and procedure before starting to develop using Python
Project Work Continuing on from Thursday afternoon work, continuing to incrementally develop and test the game before preparing to present to the class
Presentations and Awards End of course presentations and awards, reflecting on the week
