A FESTIVAL CAREER 11.00-12.30: PANEL DISCUSSION ‘The Show Must Go On’ Leading professionals talk about their careers, focussing on the things they have learnt along the way. Do they wish they had been wiser? Discussion and Q&A with: Becky Burchell Arts Producer, Bestival Bestival is an award winning 4 day boutique music festival set at Robin Hill – a beautiful leafy country park near Downend and Newport in the heart of the Isle of Wight. From the most original boutique campsite experience, to the Bollywood Cocktail Bar, a Wishing Tree Stage, fancy dress en-masse and even a landlocked Port, it’s this uniqueness that makes Bestival a wondrous world of discovery and adventure that will inspire peace, love and dancing.

Please select two people from the list below you would like to speak to, one for the morning Session and one for Session 2 in the afternoon. (Once you have booked your ticket we will contact you to choose your roundtables.)

Sarah Perryman Participation and Development Manager Brighton Fringe Brighton Fringe is the largest arts festival in England and one of the largest fringe festivals in the world. It sets out to stimulate, educate and entertain a wide audience by providing a showcase for diverse art forms. Everyone can take part, in fact, whilst enjoying a friendly and supportive environment. And all this in an iconic city with unique cultural heritage.

Louisa Pestell Participation Producer (Performance and Dance), Southbank Centre Southbank Centre is a world-famous arts centre on the South Bank of the Thames. Created in 1951 for the Festival of Britain, Southbank Centre draws on its heritage as a festival site, with art and activities inside and outside. We encourage everyone to become involved in the arts in new and creative ways.

Victoria Taylor Assistant Publicist, BBC Proms The 100th Proms season took place in 1994 and the festival now includes over 70 main Prom concerts every year, ever widening the range of symphonic and operatic music presented. The BBC Proms continues to welcome leading international performers whilst showcasing the best of the British music scene, including the BBC's own orchestras and choirs.

A FESTIVAL CAREER Lilia Prier Tisdall Creative Producer, Holloway Festival Holloway Arts Festival, now in its twelfth year, brings national and international artists and performers to the area for eight days in June each year. We present events spanning music, spoken word, cabaret, literature and more, in local venues as well as large scale outdoor street parties. The ethos of the festival is to create connections between people and artists through events that happen on their doorsteps and streets and to celebrate creativity through a huge range of arts activities and events.

Kate Wyatt Programmes Director: Festivals, Spitalfields Music Spitalfields Music brings together world class artists and local people in one of the most unusual and creative corners of London. Drawing inspiration from the area, we produce two annual music festivals and run creative music projects throughout the year in the local community. In an area often seen to be full of challenges, we focus on music and its power to bring people together, change perspectives, engage the body, emotions and intellect and to spread energy! Since 1976, we’ve been putting music at the heart of Tower Hamlets.

13.15-14.00 LUNCH 14.00-15.00 DRAGONS’ DEN Teams will have 5 minutes to present their idea for a new innovative, viable and green small scale weekend festival to the local council to win a grant to run it. It will be judged by a panel of Dragon Festival Experts The Dragons will have 5 minutes to challenge the teams on their presentation. There is a £250 cash prize for the winning team!
