WEDNESDAY 15 NOVEMBER 2017 Komedia, 22-23 Westgate Street, Bath, BA1 1EP 14.30-15.30 Session Three: Open Space. To reflect the current high profile discussion within the creative industries on sexual harassment, BAFA is supporting Arts Professionals survey, and we encourage everyone to participate. Arts Professional have also offered to provide BAFA with the early headline findings so we will also be reframing part of this session to reflect on this information. Arts Professional Survey: Recent revelations about abuses of power by high-profile individuals working in arts, culture and entertainment have triggered a watershed moment in relation to workplace sexual harassment. Sexual harassment is defined as unwanted behaviour of a sexual nature which:
violates a person’s dignity; makes them feel intimidated, degraded or humiliated; or creates a hostile or offensive environment.
This survey from Arts Professional attempts to uncover the extent of sexual harassment in the arts, and to find out whether enough is being done to tackle the issue. You can tick boxes to indicate your responses to the main questions. More useful still, however, you can choose to leave anonymous comments and reflections on the issues raised, which we hope will shed more light on this complex issue. This survey is anonymous and the results will be reported in aggregate form only, in a manner that does not allow individual responses to be identified. But please note, any comments you make will be published so if you wish to remain anonymous you should not make any comments that will identify you as the author. If you make any comments that could be considered defamatory then these will be redacted before publication. If you would like to discuss the issues raised further - or would rather make comments in a more personal forum - we would love to hear from you. Email editors@artsprofessional.co.uk to start the conversation. If you would like more information or advice about sexual harassment in the workplace, itv.com has a thorough guide to services and helplines.

How easy is it to leave an audience behind—to not push them too far, as described in the article above. Is your audience regenerating itself? Does art at music festivals really make people think? And not forgetting Sherlock … Aiming to take a new angle on this perennial topic — add your own thoughts to our debate led by our panel which will include artists and cultural commentators.
