On the basketball courts of a Dublin city park, the four members of Pillow Queens soon realised that making music together would be an equally productive group activity. Cathy, Rachel, Pam, and Sarah combine smooth vocal harmonies and ragged-edged guitars resulting in the pure alternative rock beauty that is Pillow Queens. Two years on from their debut album, their follow up ‘Leave the Light On’ is out on April 1st. We cannot wait!

Leeds rock band Yard Act are writing the rule book on Brexit era post-punk. Their debut album ‘The Overload’ went straight in at number 2 on the UK Official Album Chart earlier this year, and Yard Act were rightly on the BBC Sound Of 2022 Longlist. One of the week’s must-see bands on the cusp of world domination.

This Liverpudlian people’s poet will get your toes tapping. A clever combination of folk meets rock and roll paired with masterful songwriting that will leave you utterly transfixed. Whilst his debut album in 2020 announced his arrival to the world and landed in the top 10 on the Official UK Album Chart, he’s already a firm fixture in Liverpool FC folklore becoming almost synonymous with the club, performing with many of the players and at official and unofficial supporter events across the globe.

INTERNATIONAL SHOWCASE FUND

PRS Foundation’s International Showcase Fund off ers vital support for artists, bands, songwriters and producers based in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland who have been invited to play an international showcasing festival or conference such as SXSW, A3C, Eurosonic, Womex, Reeperbahn Festival and Folk Alliance International. Up to £6,500 is available as a contribution to travel, visas, accommodation and per diems. This year the International Showcase Fund has supported more than 35 UK artists to showcase at SXSW. Our most recent evaluation revealed that 91% of supported artists reported a clear business outcome from their showcase. “Receiving the funding has made all the diff erence in assisting me to achieve some of my most pivotal targets to date.” (Novelist, supported to perform at SXSW in 2019) The International Showcase Fund is a partnership between PRS Foundation, Department for International Trade, British Underground, Arts Council England, the Musicians’ Union, PPL, Creative Scotland, Wales Arts International, Arts Council of Wales, Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Invest Northern Ireland.
