Under the theme of ‘Tackling Infection’ the 2021 Congress will take place 21st – 24th September at P&J Live, The Event Complex Aberdeen (TECA). The programme will include the BOA keynote lectures, plenary speakers and an update from the BOA President, Bob Handley, on his Presidential year. We are working closely once again with the specialist societies to deliver revalidation and hot topic sessions. The programme will also include Hunterian Professorship Lectures from both 2020 and 2021 with topics covering ankle, hip, infection and knee.

BOA Abstract Submissions

BOA abstract submissions including Medical Students are now open and will close at 23:59 on Friday 7th May 2021. Categories include ATOCP/Physiotherapy, Basic Science, COVID-19, Developing World Orthopaedics, Education, Foot and Ankle, General Orthopaedics, Hands, Hip, Infection, Knee, Limb Reconstruction, Medical Students, Paediatrics, Quality Improvement, Simulation, Shoulder and Elbow, Spines, Sports Trauma, Trauma and Tumours.

Registration

Early bird registration exclusively for BOA members, will open on Monday 12th April and close at 23:59 on Sunday 23rd May. General Congress registration will open at 00:00 on Monday 24th May and close at 23:59 on Sunday 5th September. Late registration will open at 00:00 on Monday 6th September until the close of Congress.

Currently during this COVID-19 pandemic, 2021 is still looking a bit unsettled. With this in mind, the BOA would like to confirm that plans are being developed to deliver Congress taking government restrictions into consideration that may still be in place in the UK in September.
