SS15 Minimalistic Pastels Pastels bring out the best in people. Their soft touch creates calmness and they definitely have the happy factor. Think about all the blues, soft pinks, lavender purples and peachy oranges. What’s not to love about them? They make you think about those late spring and early summer days. How would you feel about a combination of pastels with minimalistic volumes and shapes? Like the idea? Great, so did we! That’s why we decided to dedicate this issue to the pastel fever that is coming up this SS15, together with a mix of minimalistic and artistic influences. Today’s fashion industry can be crowded, overwhelming and sometimes really hectic. Seasons come and go, and the pressure of producing new, innovative garments is extremely high. That’s why we decided to keep it as minimal as possible this issue! We went back to the roots of minimalism, looking at shapes and volumes with a touch of pastel colors, feeling that this is exactly what all the fashionistas and fashionistos have been waiting for. Our fashion story; “Minimal Exposure, Maximum Softness” relates to the minimalistic style in combination with the soft pastel colors. We were extremely honored to work with Julia van der Drift, upcoming supermodel of the year 2015. Being booked by many high end fashion houses to run their catwalk shows hasn’t changed her personality in the slightest bit: she remains genuinely friendly. She is the centerpiece of each fashion show and ad campaign, and has the ability to change characters at an instant moment. All in all an issue worth reading! Stylist Britt Mansveld is a 20-year-old upcoming stylist from the ever fashionable city Amsterdam, The Netherlands. As the curator of the Instagram of the Amsterdam Fashion Academy, she shows the world what life is like at THE fashion school of Amsterdam. As a Fashion Business student at the Amsterdam Fashion Academy she soon realized that becoming a stylist was one of her biggest passions. With an eye for detail and a love for accessories, she always knows how to create an ever eye-catching look. Describing her style as daring with a touch of edginess, she always tries to translate this within the work she produces. With a broad portfolio that shows the diverse styles and concepts she has completed she is ready to conquer the world!
