boats and birds Gregory & The Hawk If you'll be my star I'll be your sky You can hide underneath me and come out at night When I turn jet black And you show off your light I live to let you shine I live to let you shine But you can skyrocket away from me And never come back if you find another galaxy Far from here with more room to fly Just leave me your stardust to remember you by If you'll be my boat I'll be your sea A depth of pure blue just to probe curiosity Ebbing and flowing And pushed by a breeze I live to make you free I live to make you free But you can set sail to the west if you want to And pass the horizon, 'til I can't even see you Far from here Where the beaches are wide Just leave me your wake to remember you by If you'll be my star I'll be your sky You can hide underneath me and come out at night When I turn jet black And you show off your light I live to let you shine I live to let you shine But you can skyrocket away from me And never come back if you find another galaxy Far from here with more room to fly Just leave me your stardust to remember you by Stardust to remember you by

How would you know? When everything around you's changing like the weather, A big black storm. And who would you turn to? Or hide a ghost, a shadow at the most, would you let me know? Cause I don't want to, To trouble your mind with the childish design of how it all should go. But I love you so, But it all comes clear, when the wind is settled, I'll be here, you know. Cause you said ours were the lighthouse towers The sand upon that place Darling I'll grow weary, happy still With just the memory of your face Gracious goes the ghost of you And I will never forget the plans and the Silhouettes you drew here and Gracious goes the ghost of you My dear And how would you know? When everything around you's bruised and battered Like the cold night storm. And who would you turn to? Or hide a ghost, a shadow at the most, would you tell me so? Cause I, I adore you so When it all comes clear, the wind is settled, I'll be here, you know.

left &Theleaving Weakerthans My city's still breathing (but barely it's true) through buildings gone missing like teeth. The sidewalks are watching me think about you, sparkled with broken glass. I'm back with scars to show. Back with the streets I know. Will never take me anywhere but here. The stain in the carpet, this drink in my hand, the strangers whose faces I know. We meet here for our dress-rehearsal to say "I wanted it this way" wait for the year to drown. Spring forward, fall back down. I'm trying not to wonder where you are. All this time lingers, undefined. Someone choose who's left and who's leaving. Memory will rust and erode into lists of all that you gave me: a blanket, some matches, this pain in my chest, the best parts of Lonely, duct-tape and soldered wires, new words for old desires, and every birthday card I threw away. I wait in 4/4 time. Count yellow highway lines that you're relying on to lead you home.

all of the stars Ed Sheeran It's just another night And I'm staring at the moon I saw a shooting star And thought of you I sang a lullaby By the waterside and knew If you were here, I'd sing to you You're on the other side As the skyline splits in two I'm miles away from seeing you I can see the stars From America I wonder, do you see them, too? So open your eyes and see The way our horizons meet And all of the lights will lead Into the night with me And I know these scars will bleed But both of our hearts believe All of these stars will guide us home I can hear your heart On the radio beat They're playing 'Chasing Cars' And I thought of us Back to the time, You were lying next to me I looked across and fell in love So I took your hand Back through lands and streets I knew Everything led back to you So can you see the stars? Over Amsterdam You're the song my heart is Beating to And, oh, I know And oh, I know, oh I can see the stars From America

the citizens Avalance City I can see the rainclouds over The grey chased away the colors It's hailing and storming all on the citizens Leaving them running for their umbrellas Hold on, hold on She said to me Won't be long, won't be long 'Til we all will see The colors will return to their owners And citizens emerge from the covers I can see the fear take over Hearts hardened to the sound of closeness It's aching and pounding all on the citizens Leaving them wishing they had a lover Hold on, hold on She said to me Won't be long, won't be long 'Til we all will see The lovers will emerge from their silence And citizens return from their covers And the lights on the streets go dark But all the heaviness is in my heart And the colors on the leaves are grey But I hold heaven in my heart today And the rainclouds begin to pour And the greyness defeats us all And I know she said that it's okay But I'll take anything she will say

more than letters Benjamin Francis Leftwich

All the water, all the water in the world Stop my heart, stop, my legs are out And do you know, the secret road Where I can go, to see and feel you grow If it's not too much, I would love to see you there With bone coloured skin and flowers in your hair If it's not too much, I would love to see you there With bone coloured skin and flowers in your hair. Where does the time go? Where does the time all go forever? It hides in your eyes, in a picture In another place's sky I have it in my hands They're the words to a song I never sang It's more than letters, it heals that bridge If it's not too much, I would love to see you there With bone coloured skin and flowers in your hair If it's not too much, I would love to see you there With bone coloured skin and flowers in your hair If it's not too much, I would love to see you there With bone coloured skin and flowers in your hair You can be my woman, you can take the water

weak bones Jonas David I know where we've been through some paths without light I still draw from the fires that we once had I know where we've been to some places with light still wanting the fires still walk in the light And I know I know I know you This weak bones weak bones are strong with you

tomorrow Daughter By tomorrow we'll be swimming with the fishes Leave our troubles in the sand. And when the sun comes up, We'll be nothing but dust, Just the outlines of our hands By tomorrow we'll be lost amongst the leaves, In a wind that chills the skeletons of trees, And when the moon, it shines I will leave two lines. Find my love, then find me. Don't bring tomorrow 'cause I already know I'll lose you Don't bring tomorrow 'cause I already know I'll lose you I'll lose you By tomorrow I'll be left in the darkness, Amongst your cold sheets. And your shoes will be gone, And your body warmth no longer beside me. But don't bring tomorrow 'cause I already know I'll lose you Don't bring tomorrow 'cause I already know I'll lose I'll lose You

Thoughtless Jolly Geography made me an enemy today Pulled us apart and sat between Where you are and where you've been If you feel you'll gently slip away Well let me know and I'll collect The foreign thought that I'd forget you When I was young we stayed in the same place And now we spill across the borders Spread ourselves to seperate corners The globe that we still hold in our own hands I could point to where and know you are I could tell myself it's not that far away Keep your mouth closed Don't tell a soul If you have a home then where'd it go? And if you find love could you save me some? Just let me know when you come home A calendar is marked on the right date Cross off the days that you remain in a triple square with a lifetime caged in Birds who fly like you know I wish I could Over our heads to where they choose to And place themselves right where they need to Keep your mouth closed Don't tell a soul If you have a home then where'd it go? And if you find love could you save me some? Just let me know when you come home When I was young we stayed in the same place And now we spill across the borders Place ourselves in seperate corners

I've been looking in churches and looking in bars Thought that I saw you in the oncoming cars It was your reflection cast off by the light And into the sky of this dark city night And I thought that I saw you in the tallest of trees Swayed back and forth in the mid-autumn breeze When the leaves reddened and left too I knew then that it wasn't you Where in the world are you now? Oh where in the world are you? Where in the world are you now? And I looked for you there in music and song 'Cause I thought I could find you there They were only notes pulled from the air Not the kind I could read or breathe if I dare Where in the world are you now? Oh where in the world are you? Where in the world are you now?

where in the world are you now? Great Lake Swimmers

transatlanticism Death Cab For Cutie

The Atlantic was born today and I'll tell you how... The clouds above opened up and let it out. I was standing on the surface of a perforated sphere When the water filled every hole. And thousands upon thousands made an ocean, Making islands where no island should go. Oh no. Those people were overjoyed; they took to their boats. I thought it less like a lake and more like a moat. The rhythm of my footsteps crossing flatlands to your door have been silenced forever more. The distance is quite simply much too far for me to row It seems farther than ever before Oh no.

I need you so much closer

I need you so much closer

I need you so much closer

I need you so much closer

So come on,

Come on.

for the listeners:

I'm in love with a boy who lives across the ocean. He's always 3,000 miles away from me and 5 hours ahead. I've spent far too many plane rides flying in the opposite direction, away from my favorite person and my favorite city. These are the songs I've listened to while staring out plane windows, crying and longing to fly right back. There have been many times where I've bawled my eyes out to the strains of "Transatlanticism," hoping and wishing that he'd be a little bit closer. This mix is for everyone who needs someone just a little bit closer. This is for those who spend their life in airports and on trains, always leaving their heart behind when they go. And, most importantly, this mix is for my own George Harrison. You're always here, even if you're not actually here at all.
