Inspired by a true story and adapted from Hans Fallada’s 1947 book ‘Every Man Dies Alone’, Alone in Berlin tells the story of Anna and Otto Quangel who, following the death of their only son at the front in 1940, decide to turn their grief into resistance by dropping handwritten postcards all over Berlin, denouncing Hitler and encouraging people to stand against the regime.
